I bought this for me 3 Year old gaming machine which was running on early generation Phenom Quadcore, it's still a machine that's got some power left in it's circuits and can still play all the latest games although that's probably down to the graphics. Anyway this was a perfect upgrade especially seeing as a new board and CPU would cost around £200. This did the trick and I think I could easily get another couple years out of this thing, not bad for a sub £100 upgrade.
I recommend this processor to anyone with AM3 baords that are not looking to upgrade in the next year or 2 and need a little extra power. Ive thrown all sorts at this processor HD video encoding, rendering, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 & 3 as examples. No problem at all. Nothing to complain about turbo core also bumps up the core speed to 3.2 for a little extra power for single core programs.
