I use these on my bag zippers and for generally keeping things together in one place. My day-bag has a tendency for the zippers to come open when it is very full. I use a small rucksack. I use one of these to tie the zippers from the different pockets together which keep them from slowly coming open while I'm carrying the bag. The stress on the cable is quite high in these cases, but I've not seen any indication that is is causing problems and the cable itself and the connections to the screw are holding up without any signs of giving out. The ones used on my bag are out in the Great British Weather constantly and there are no signs of rust or degradation due to that.
I have used some of the others for keys and attaching to USB dongles and my bluetooth GPS. Again -without problems.
