I did an enormous amount of research before buying these (or any expensive Headphones) so i think i have quite a good view on these. for instance i have tried, Denon NC, Beats studio, Bose NC.

On the plus side, they are very nice to look at, seem very sturdy and well made. They look good on the ears and not to 'stand out' like others. The sound is excellent - not tiny, or base led. Just very solid and enjoyable. They are very comfortable, and do not in any way get hot. I fly 2 times a week (commute) and so need the NC for the plane. It works very well indeed - much better than the Bose equivalent. for a traveller note that they are not 'deep' meaning that when your head is on an airplane headrest any lateral movement will not knock them off - like they did with my beats studios. A real bonus is the fact they they are chargeable via usb (inc PC's). so no need to carry around batteries. They also work if the power fails - which most others don't. A very good design point.

The not so good - the cable is fabric style - it rubs a little on collars so can make a noise sometimes....a small point but i have tried to look for a new cable.

My last point - mine broke - on the twisty / fold up bit last week. I have just had them replaced by amazon (who were great as always) under the guarantee. But do be careful with them - i think with any 'joint' when folding it can take too much pressure. The soft travel bag is fine, but i do now wish it was a harder case also. I do recommend these and i bought them at £199. Now they are £149 i would say better than bose in quality, functionality, and sound + price.

I did some intensive searching on products and reviews for a couple of months before I had made my mind to select this headphones.
The aim was to move from some old In-Ear JVC NC headphones to something that could make me enjoy more my travelling
I've test those against the Bose QC3 and i, believe that the overall sound quality is very similar and I didn't fell any difference in the NC feature , both are excellent headphones.
Still the decision to buy the AGK was no brainer for me.
    Better in AGK
    1.USB Charger
    2.Lower Price
3.You can continue to listen great sound quality even with the battery discharged.
4.Design is beautiful and it's well finished

What i found better in the Bose.
1.Headphones case , the AGK is quite modest
2.Headphone Cable , i prefer the Bose design.
    Recommended.

Review less than two years from 5 stars to 2 stars

Less that two years usage and i,ve experiment the poor build quality of this headphone , watch up for the regular business travel as the transportation case is somethink cheap and soft not enought to protect delicate gear , my right hearing support is broken but i notice how fragile it,s the small plastic connection that support the speaker " a design disgrace " i love the sound of this headphones but i have no alternative than to send them now trash bin they are useless and cannot be repaired , AGK please learn to make thinks better i will go for the BoseQ15 now.

had the Bose QC3 for a few years til they finally succumbed to wear and tear. Before buying a new pair, thought I'd find out if there was any decent competition.

Came across the AKG K90s from a couple of very positive reviews on hi-fi sites and they appeared to be the perfect replacement. Having had them a week now, unfortunately they have not lived up to expectation. My issues with them may not affect your usage so I have tried to clarify my points below and ignored basic things (sound quality etc.) that you can read about on proper review sites:

    pros:
    - compared to the Bose equivalent they feel more rigid and look more like traditional, unobtrusive headphones (was not a big fan of the shiny silver look of the Bose). The size, weight and feel are perfect (though fit a bit tighter than the Bose)

    - the USB charging is very useful (and although it doesn't come with it, you can stick it in a mains USB charger that you'll prob already have with a phone/iPod etc.

I don't normally review my purchases, but I was almost put off buying these headphones by the few and mostly mediocre Amazon reviews, despite pretty good ratings on other pro-audio sites. So I thought I would throw into the ring my experience of the first 24 hours with this product.

I am no audiophile, but have a few budget-quality over and in-ear monitors around the house and the K490s blow them away in terms of sound quality. Those in the know seem to agree that for any given price point you can get a better quality headphone if you lose the noise cancelling function, but I would suggest that the differences are becoming pretty marginal by this point and if you are just looking for a great sound without obsessing over the detail then these will do you proud.

This of course then raises the question of do you really want the noise cancelling function. Others have commented that it does not really work, but I feel this is unfair. If you expecting to turn the noise cancelling on and live in a silent world then the K490s will not deliver, but then I do not think (based on a tour of the Bose etc models in John Lewis!) that any noise cancelling headphone would. What they are good at is getting rid of the low frequency background track that goes almost unnoticed in daily life - flick the switch and the traffic drone will disappear or drop to a barely noticeable hum. You may still be able to hear a shout, dog bark, horn or whatever, but less intrusively (or not at all if you are playing music). I fly a reasonable amount and fully expect the NC to come into its own in this environment, but personally I like the cocooning effect it brings to daily life in any case.
