never do reviews but theese are so good i thought i should if you looking at them just go for it and buy them....

the sound quality is amazing, with and without the noise cancelation turned on,,, the cancelation seems to make the sound abit more bassy but not alot and sounds great

would go for AKG every time after hearing theese

also there is a great carry case with the headphones which is very good quality and perfect size for keeping you ipod in aswell

I originally gave this product 5 out of 5, but have changed this to 3 for the following reasons. 1. The cords going to the headphones and the mucis player come out of the same end. This problem means that with your player in your pocket, and the clip hooking onto the top of your shirt, the cords are shorter, get in your way easier, and if they do get caught on anything, the clip flips over and pulls off you shirt. Why oh why do they not come out of the headphone on the top, and to the player from the bottom? 2. The clip holding the battery is massive. Alot bigger then other similar models. 3. The sound cancelling is not as good as I expected after trying similar models. *** This product still gets 3 out of 5 as it is excellent for travelling with its arms folding in on itself to pack away in a small travel case.

Received these headphones as a Birthday present from my wife, and they have completely fulfilled my expectations. The AKG's have unbelievable natural sound quality - The bass is very rich and clean while the mids and highs are very smooth and crisp. The noise canceling works well with loud ambient noise. And not like the other noise cancelling headphones they do work without battery. They are very comfortable and very portable. The carrying case is the best I have seen with a pair of headphones
It's the perfect size for everyday traveler. I would recommend these headphones to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

YES, these are excellent headphones. Probably the best I have ever owned. But once the custom-made cable that connects them to your ipod or whatever is broken, they are practically useless. And it WILL break, in a matter of months.

It is supplied with two lengths of cable. First the long one went, then I had to use the short one (had to keep ipod in top pocket which kind of sucked)... then that one packed in too. Trying to buy a new cable is like trying to find the golden fleece. If you do find a supplier, it'll cost you a fortune. OR you could try phoning up AKG (check the messageboards for how responsive they are - not very).

Before very long you will be left with headphones - truly excellent headphones - that you simply cannot use. Which is worse, in many ways, than buying crappy headphones that only last a couple of months.

    Avoid.

This flies in the face of other reviews here, but we all speak as we find. I bought a pair of these cans based on reviews, reputation, the build quality I observed and the fact that noise cancellation was included, making good value at the price. I connected them to a portable CD player and left them running for a couple of days to burn in. I then ripped a few tracks to my new Sansa Clip+ and............ Uh Oh. No matter how I positioned these on my ears I couldn't get happy with the sound. I could make it better using the DSP in the Sansa, but that's just wrong in my view.

I then listened to a number of discs on the portable CD player (was it my rip encoding?) but not much better. So I plugged them into the separates system (by no means high end but quite capable) and the news was no better. So, good build, practical design (fold down well), extreme comfort, exceptionally well presented (zip case with variety of leads and adapters, all with gold plated connectors), but rather poor sound quality in my view. Bloomy bass (which blooms further when you turn on the noise cancelling), a rather narrow sound stage and very little 'air' about the music. All sounds a bit like listening through a layer or two of cloth.

Solution? Return and swap for a pair of Audio Technica ES55s. No extras, not as comfortable and no noise cancelling but much improved sound (they were award winners in their price bracket in 2010) and they will certainly get listened to instead of being relegated to a drawer for the remainder of their existence.

    AKG K 480 NC - Headphones ( ear-cup ) - active noise cancelling - espesso

First time I have written a review, however, feel compelled with this product. If you want something that is compact and provides a beautiful sound these are brilliant. Carry case is great quality and comes with a variety of leads. I tested the headphones in the car (wife driving) on a motorway with two young children in the back and still had a great experience with them with little distracting background noise with the noise reduction on. In some ways I think it is better and safer (and my wife prefers it that I can hear her) to be able to hear some background sound as these don't cover the whole ear. However, I travel alot and wanted something very portable. I can also neatly fit my ipod into the case too.

Only had for a few weeks. So far though absolutely delighted with them and feel that I made a very good choice from the large selection available.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bon casque pour mp3-flac
Reviewed in France on 15 February 2012

5.0 out of 5 stars Toller Kopfhörer
Reviewed in Germany on 7 November 2011

5.0 out of 5 stars Un modello eccezionale
Reviewed in Italy on 25 May 2011
Bassi corposi e definiti, medi bilanciati e alti dettagliatissimi.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bien auricular, regular cable y noise cancelling
Reviewed in Spain on 15 January 2014
