Product Description

Platform:Xbox 360

I’m not sure if you can hear me over how awesome I am, so listen closely. There are a few important things I need to say before you crack into this insanely sweet game: I’m a mercenary with an accelerated healing factor. I’ve been described as unstable, which is just plain coo-coo. (Wait, do sane people say coo-coo?) I hunger for two things, chimichangas and more chimichangas (mmm… chimichangas) I’m gonna battle for the safety of humans and mutants. (And even mumans.) So yeah, be prepared for just about anything. (Holla!)

Product Features

  • I made sure to capture all my good sides, so I made my game a third-person action-shooter.
  • Keep a look out because some of my X-Men pals (Whoa, what pals?!?) will be making an appearance.
  • I’m really good at killing, so I made it a blast stringing together combos, jumping from really REALLY high places, and totally eviscerating my enemies. (Ev-is-cer-a-ting!)
  • I brought my skills and a butt-load of my favorite things. Katanas (check), guns (bang!), explosives (boom), duct tape (quack) and of course yours truly--ME! (Checkmate!)

OK this isn't going to be a "review" just a few thought after finishing the game.

As a fan of Deadpools antics well mostly just the Cable and deadpool comics I think Deadpool is awesome and hilarious and he is hilarious at times in this game. He is a character who can be funny where as if a different character did the same thing it would probably get annoying. They really nailed his crazy warped mind and humour.

Gameplay wise its all very dull really saving for the odd part. The combat system is basic to say the least and offers nothing really except a bland lack of depth, the upgrade system again is basic and doesn't have any depth. The 3 types of melee weapons all feel the same swords are the first weapons then Sai which are faster but seem to deal less damage then the hammers which don't seem to offer much "devastation" despite the blurb above them saying they should be banned from TV. The enemies are repetitive and annoying you can fight through 7-15 pretty tough enemies only to be killed in 5 seconds from a lowly grunt with a gun. There is no block button the game instead offers a teleport function which can work ok but I found many times during a heated battle it fails to register the button press and you just get destroyed.

Despite the above criticisms the game is still a hell of a lot of fun! it's just let down a little by the repetition of enemies and the bland combat. I still had fun playing it though because it is genuinely funny and quite well presented.

All said and done I think the game is worth its asking price of £30 and below, I bought the mercenary edition and it was a waste of money, saying you get an extra costume, turns out you can't even use the costume during the game but only on 1 challenge mission..

It's a long time since I've played anything but Call of Duty. (Which has gone down the pan, big time)

So when I learned that Deadpool the game was tonnes of fun, I got it.

It's Hysterical. You get to be Deadpool and run around shouting expletives, killing bad guys in very bloody ways, using amazing weapons and stupid ones too.

It's frustrating and Deadpool blames me for being a Useless Player (He's right).

I had it on the toughest setting and couldn't do it, so I went down a level and it's doable and loads of fun.

It's Deadpool, right from the comic, under your control. I Love it. I Love Deapool.

For those who are not familiar 'Deadpool' AKA the 'Merc with the mouth' is a Marvel character you will either love or...well be sickened by. Sure he is sleazy, violent, psychopathic, loud, over the top and downright vulgar, but there is a lot to love about Deadpool including his tendency to break the fourth wall.

I could go on to tell you a bit of background about him from the comics but instead I shall dive straight into the contents of this title.

As soon as I seen High Moon Studios (the creators of Fall/War for Cybertron Transformers titles) developed this game I knew from the offset that this would be a game with fan service; man they do not disappoint in this regard! As another reviewer pointed out this game is pretty much an interactive Deadpool comic!

Combat is fun and basic; there is something about juggling generic clone warriors with shotguns and katanas which greatly satisfies me. Deadpool comes equipped with an arsenal which includes flash bangs, pulse riffles, SMG's, sledgehammers and beartraps, the ways in which you dispatch of anyone stupid enough to cross you are endless! The levels design is average; office blocks, sewers and rooftops, very standard action game fair - this game will never blow you away graphically or in terms of scope.

I had a blast playing through Deadpool's campaign. All be it a very brief blast. The campaign lasts around 5-6 hours on the hardest difficulty, at least it did for me anyway, by the end I was yearning for more but unfortunately the game has very little replay value unless you want to achievement hunt. This is the game's biggest shortcoming in my opinion and why it loses a star in my review.

A fairly basic game and quite easy (which is ideal as I suck at games) right up until the very last bad-guy battle at which point I hit a brick wall. While the gameplay is fairly rote, it's a brilliant purchase for the Deadpool fans as the scriptwriters and actors have nailed the character perfectly. I've not laughed at a game so much in... ever, I think.

Deadpool is a third-person hack/shoot-em-up, which gives Marvel comics very own 'Merc with a mouth' his first solo outing on a gaming console, and whilst its attempts to portray the maniac insanity of Deadpool often succeed, as a game it fails - too often descending into hum-drum button bashing of the type weve seen so many times before.

The game is pretty, but unexceptional looking, going with a bright, cartoony style. All of the characters (which includes other popular Marvel characters such as Wolverine, Cable, Rogue, Domino and Psylocke) are quite faithfully recreated.

Technically the game does absolutely nothing new. Deadpool is armed with swords, which can produce a variety of attacks using the usual 'X' and 'Y' button combinations. You can learn additional combos as the game progresses, but frankly its possible to go through the entire game quite easily with no more than random button bashing. Gun play meanwhile is controlled by autolocking on a target with the left trigger, whilst shooting with the right trigger. Its a control system weve seen literally hundreds of times before.

Deadpool also has a personal teleportation device which allows him to quickly escape from danger and reappear a short distance away. Its a nice idea that never really works due to the fact that the device doesnt allow you to teleport past minor obstructions such as a table and chairs, and so is only really useful in combat when fighting in a wide open space.
