What I am trying to say is very addictive game, first few days I played for about 30/45 minutes then as I got to know all, I was playing till 4am in the morning (didn't realise where time went).
Very cool game and levels are super fab. Only down side needs to download update files (over 90gb) which took a loooonnnnggg time, and that's slot of data.
But defo fab gameplay.
Even better now with all the DLC content.
Upgraded from having on Ps3 and all my progress, weapons and such transferred over.
Had a 28gb update file to download after adding the codes which took around 90 mins.
Once done though, dived right back into this incredible world and much better looking on PS4.
Buy this now morons.
The game is incredibly rewarding and if you know what you're doing you can upgrade your gear after each and every game. Highly suggest to play with friends and voice comm - its the best and only way to enjoy this game.
Get this game if you want to:
- Find purpose in your life
- Lose weight (as you won't have time to cook or eat)
- Make new friends (online)
- Save money (never leaving the house)
- Have reason to wake up in the morning

THIS IS HOW GOOD DESTINY IS
I managed to fight my demons and cancelled my return and have opened the game. I have so far managed to play it casually without any FOMO. Game is as good as I remember!
The first thing I notice is that the plot is pretty weak. Bless Bungie, they never could come up with a compelling storyline in the Halo series, and nothing appears to have changed here. They may as well have just said "Lots of bad aliens, kill them all." because that's what you're effectively doing! The ghost companion that jabbers on at you is now my indicator that I can take a bathroom break or get a drink. Maybe I'm being harsh, but honestly, I just can't get into it.
Gameplay so far is enjoyable. The mechanics and screen interfaces aren't as terrifyingly complex as some games I've had the displeasure of having to navigate. Basically, 3 gun types (basic, special and heavy), various clothing pieces, and a skills tree. Some poorly explained weirdness as well (Grimoire cards for instance). But Google's your friend and there are a few good "getting started" videos on YouTube as well. I'm still a bit perplexed by Strength, Intellect and Discipline stats. But I don't know that they really matter early game anyway.
The graphics are top notch. There's a quality and consistency throughout that oozes class. I like it that there is only one main hub to gather/return quests, loot etc. I think that's a smart call as this is often a pain to find the NPC's you're looking for in these open-world games. The main hub (Old Russia) is a large base that does take some time to get around. It would have been nice if the map interconnected in some way, so you don't have to double-back on yourself. But hey, you can't have everything can you?
Concerns so far include that it might start to get boring. It does feel like a kill, upgrade, rinse, repeat exercise.Read more ›
