Product Description

ACS Elacin Hi Fidelity ER-20 Earplugs are ideal hearing protectors. Enjoy the sounds you want to hear and stop the ones that cause damage. Your hearing provides you with the ability to listen to a massive range of different sounds. Hearing is one of our most important senses and we all take it for granted until something goes wrong. Imagine if that ringing doesn't go away, or if you cant hear parts of music and speech that you know are there! Listening at high volumes can damage your hearing permanently, but wearing regular earplugs kills the music and isolates you from what's going on around you. (You'll know if you've tried them, which is, after all, why you don't want to wear them). ER20 Ear Plugs are different - They'll protect your hearing without spoiling your enjoyment of music and reduce the risk of serious hearing damage later on. They use a patented, revolutionary filter system that drops the volume but retains all the fidelity and keeps you in the mix. They are ideal for use in most situations where noise is dangerous. ACS ER-20's Music EarPlugs are re-useable hearing protectors that protect the ear against excessive ambient noise. Due to the special filter, the fidelity of the original sound remains and speech intelligility is hardly affected. In the workplace when sounds reach a level of 85dB(A), it's the law for employers to provide hearing protection. Outside of work, it's down to you! Specifications: Elacin Earplugs for Musicians Complete with black cordAttenuation Level: 20db (Flat Attenuation) Apx Lifetime: 6 MonthsConforms to EN352-2

Ive been playing the drums for about 10 years now and have tried loads of plugs to try and help to save my ears over the years. Dr. Plugs, foam plugs, and other "christmas tree" plugs, but none of the mcome close to matching these. Its basically just like turning down to volume a few notches. When I practise with my band i can hear everything like i would hear it if i hadno plugs in at all, yet after 3 hours of practise my ears dont ring at all. Its an absolute revelation! Since i got these a few years ago ive even started wearing plugs when i go to see other bands play, it used to be the sound would be muddy and generally rubbsih wearing plugs, not with these! Again you can hear everything, probably even better than if you werent wearing plugs. Then once the band stops playing you can turn to your mates and have a normal conversation without anyone needing to shout, you can hear them talk to you and you can hear yourself talking too! simply fantastic plugs! i wouldnt use anything else!

Just a little note to say that the Etymotic ER-20s plugs and the Elacin ER-20s are both exactly the same made by the same people. so buy the ones that are cheapest!

I ordered the smaller fitting ear plugs after reading reviews on the normal fitting and deciding this was the product I wanted. They are fairly comfortable but take a bit of getting used to, but are fantastic. They don't muffle sound, its as if the sound has just been turned down from 100 to 75.
I have ME and have noise sensitivity. I also like going to see live bands so these are ideal. They come in a nice little case that can be attached to keys or just kept in a handbag/pocket and are very discreet. They are clear so you have to really look to notice you are wearing them.

I ordered these ear plugs and the standard size as I was unsure which would fit better. As a lady with a relatively small head I definitely found these to be more comfortable and a better fit to the standard size.

I wore them to see Iron Maiden at the O2 in London, twice, so they were throughly sound tested. I've always worn earplugs to gigs as quite frankly I want to preserve my hearing. I bought these earplugs as a replacement for basic sponge earplugs and with these I found the sound far more enhanced. The sound overall was just quieter than without earplugs, there was very clear definition, all the sound was audible, vocals and all, no underwater feeling and best of all, when I took them out after the shows, no ringing or reverberation at all.

Definitely a step up from spongey ones, even when I was singing along they didn't move or budge or leak sound in. They do stick out from the ears a little bit so maybe not the best if you're in the moshpit but as I'm ususally in the seats, (I'm short too and I like to see), it's not a problem.

These earplugs are good for the casual clubber or part time musician, but if like me you are in environments higher than 100db on a weekly basis, then you need stronger earplugs. The SNR rating of these is 12db, but they can offer up to 20db at certain frequencies depending on fit and correct usage. I used to use these all the time, but unfortunately I sustained serious hearing impairment and have had to upgrade to custom moulded plugs. My damage happened whilst wearing the ER-20. Do not be complacent if you are around loud sound regularly. Shell out for the professional earplugs......its worth it.

Its so nice to wake up the morning after a gig and be able to hear. I bought these after one very loud gig left my ears ringing for a couple of days and thought that i had better something about it.

My main worry was that as a trumpet player i would hear the noise in my head wrong (a bit like putting your fingers in your ears while singing, except a strange trumpet like sound) however i soon got use to this found my playing actually improved as i was able to hear what i was playing much more clearly.

I was also worried about how much noise it would cut out, but it was brilliant...just taking the harsh top sounds off cymbals and such like, and then just dimming everything else

After a couple of gigs i already love them and dont think i will go back to doing gigs without them

I use these earplugs for practicing my violin (= 110 to 120 dB surprisingly enough). Pretty satisfied overall.

A tip for other violinists considering this product: It turns out that with the violin you get a lot of low to mid frequency sound transmitted through your chin, which results in a very un-natural sound with the earplugs. This is largely solved by putting a 3 mm foam pad under my chin (on top of my chinrest) to reduce vibrations transmitting this way. With the foam pad, I do still notice that the very high overtones are reduced by more than the fundamental note itself - the violin does not sound quite as brilliant as without.

These are absolutely great for all music circumstances... gigging, clubbing etc but NOT ENOUGH for drumming. I have been using them during drum rehearsals with my band and thought that they were the business because they reduce the volume but you still hear vocals and other instruments.

Sadly however, I have found that after a couple of particularly loud practices, I have come away with tinnitus and muffled hearing. This has lead me to suffer greatly from insomnia from the ringing I hear at night time.

I would go as far as to say it has somewhat damaged my life.

These should come with a warning "NOT SUITABLE FOR DRUMMING" ( unless you're a gentle jazz drummer maybe...)
