About the Author

Lyra Parish loves to write, glamp, and sing obnoxiously loud at the top of her lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make her gush. She is a firm believer that a person can never have too many cups of coffee, cats, or happily ever afters. When she isn't busy writing, she can be found sipping various beverages from her non-alcoholic drink buffet, pimp slapping excel spreadsheets, or riding her bike. I like a little bit of rocker in my life now and then, and Ace certainly didn’t disappoint. Yes, Ace Hathaway is your typical bad-boy-front-man-in-a-band-new-girl-every-night-of-the-week kinda guy, but when public enemy #1 journalist Elizabeth Riley joins the tour, it certainly shows us a side to Ace that no one else had ever seen.

This is my first book by Lyra Parish, and I have to say that I really enjoyed her writing. She is descriptive enough that it keeps me engaged, but not overly to the point where I am skipping chunks just to move the story along. The characters are well developed, have a solid background and strong personalities which make them really good quality lead characters. The story was a great mix of laughter, anger, romance and ANTICIPATION! Holy smokes, I thought I was going to combust waiting for it! Talk about tension! Wowza!!! She also did a great job in pulling the secondary characters into the story, leading into the next books in the series. Overall, great book and I look forward reading more about the Band of Brothers!

This is far from the typical rock story and while Ace is the typical rockstar in many respects, he is also so different.
I know there are only so many ways to write about sexed up rock god and shy retiring woman, we have all read them before but this is one rock god you would dismiss at your peril, because Ace is more than able to dispel any cobwebs you may have hanging around, there is nothing quintessential about him, he may fit the jeans but that doesn’t mean he has to fit the mould!
Until Elizabeth, Ace has systematically followed the path that they all do, different town, different gig, different girl and that is fine by him…until Elizabeth entered the fray, because then all bets are off and he is catapulted into a whole different world of hurt and longing!
Elizabeth lands a job that while it may have been the desire of many and thousands would have probably given their right arm for, but she is far from impressed with her latest assignment.
Ace has an inherent loathing of reporters and to be frank, would normally be best kept out of reach most of the time but staying away from Elizabeth is not an option.
I loved the fact that she battled to hide her distain almost as much as he battled to stay away, neither of them were ever going to win but it was fun watching them try!
The story is set around the band and while I liked the whole band dynamic, I am a bit of a rock wh**e really, I hold my hands up and admit that if I had to describe this book in just a few words I would say it was an out and out romance.
It might not be your typical, run of the mill romance but it is every bit as romantic as you could ever want it to be.

What would you do if your dream comes true, you get to tour with an amazing rock band and write about it for the magazine you work for? What you don’t expect is to be attracted to the womanizing lead singer? How do you keep your objectivity? Elizabeth finds herself on tour with Band of Brothers, following her passion for music. Ace, the lead singer, is the notorious womanizer that never gives interviews yet Elizabeth has been tasked to get an interview with him. What Elizabeth doesn’t expect is to be blown away by Ace’s passion and charisma on stage since Band of Brothers music isn’t her first listening choice. Ace avoids all reporters but he catches Elizabeth in a musical moment of her own and now he’s intrigued to know more. So how can Ace get to know Elizabeth without giving an interview? Will Elizabeth allow herself to fall under Ace’s spell? This is a wonderful rocker romance that gave me several surprises as we got to know Ace and Elizabeth. Ace has many layers to him that shaped his behaviors and he has to be willing to face the hurts of his past to find a way forward. Elizabeth, well, she is challenged with how getting close to Ace could disrupt her career. I love how their romance unfurled through innocent moments that could happen in anyone’s life. Along with a great supporting cast, this was a fabulous romance to dive into and get lost in.

My love of rockstar books runs deep. It is always my go to when I am in a book slump. ACE fulfilled my needs for an amazing rockstar read!

At first glance, Ace appears to be your typical rockstar. As the layers are peeled away, I found that there was so much more to this musician and rockstar than just the Ace of Spades persona. Elizabeth is your everyday woman. She is likable, easy to relate to and has a deep love of music that rivals Ace. Ace and Elizabeth's initial dislike for one another makes for some interesting conversations that had me laughing. Their raw chemistry was HOT!! The family dynamic of the Hathaway brothers was fun to read and showed a different side to these rocker men.

And seriously ~ I want an Ace to dance with!! Holy sexy dancing rockstar!!

Overall, I really enjoyed everything about this rockstar book and highly recommend reading it!!

HASH(0x8cd579f8) out of 5 stars Loved Ace 24 Feb. 2016
By Busy Bumble Bee Book Reviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have to say I have known who author Lyra Parish is, but haven't had a chance to read anything of hers yet. But when I saw that she was coming out with a new Rock Band book I had to finally check it out. I mean who doesn't love Hot Rock Stars. And I haven't read any good Rock Star books, until I read Ace.

I loved Ace right away. He's had his heart broken and the only way he knows how to deal with it is being a manwho*e. But underneath it all he was a sweet and caring guy. I loved the way he was with his brother's.

I have to say I liked Elizabeth. I have a hard time with lead female characters. But Elizabeth was different. She was shy, sweet, caring and intelligent.

I have to say I really liked this book. It's not your typical Rocker Romance. I really liked the dynamics between Ace and his brothers. His brothers cracked me up.

I'm giving this book 4 stars out of 5 stars.

HASH(0x8cd57a4c) out of 5 stars Let Ace rock your world! 22 Feb. 2016
By Lina - Published on Amazon.com

I love rock stars and this was quite different from what I've read so far.
Ace Hathway is your usual famous rocker. His band draws thousands of fans to every concert and their fame precedes them. Ace has one rule though; he never talks to journalists, he never gives interviews. His routine is going to break when Elizabeth Riley joins them on tour.
Elizabeth is an editor for a magazine, but she had to replace her friend in covering the band's tour. She is reluctant. She isn't a fan. She is shy. Her only company in the tour will be her guitar.
When she meets Ace, she is not impressed, but she cannot deny his charm. She knows that it will be tricky to interview him and she knows that she will lose her job if she doesn't.
Ace finds himself at a crossroad. Elizabeth is not his type. She is not the woman he would choose for his casual hook ups after a concert. Yet, he finds himself gravitating towards her.

Our hero's feelings are mixed up. He doesn't want to be attracted to this woman, a journalist nonetheless, yet he cannot stay away.

They spend time together and Ace gets to see the real Elizabeth. Elizabeth will come to discover that Ace is not what everybody thinks he is. While discovering Ace, she will discover herself. She will allow herself to fall for the bad boy and egotistical guy that she'd never look at before.
Will she finally be able to break down Ace's walls? It's never too late for change and Ace will come to realize that through his strong feelings for the girl who is definitely not his type.

I loved how the author brought these two together. She made two completely different people click with ease and I loved how they came closer. Music was the catalyst for these two beautiful souls to become one and it was inspiring to see how both of them shed their pasts and insecurities. What a fantastic journey! If you love rockers, then you will love Ace!!!

We first meet Ace and his brothers at a concert that they are preforming. We meet Elizabeth while she is running late for a last minute mandatory meeting. When Elizabeth was told that she is going to be touring with The Band of Brothers. She is terrified about going on tour with them as she has never been on tour before. When she called her friend and asked her why she recommended her. When Ace sees her standing in a corner, he wants to know who she is and she has to ask Miley.
Elizabeth is 24 years old, she works for Parish magazine. Was raised on oldies, she was taught to play guitar by her father. She is an introvert, and a really good photographer. Ace is the lead singer of Band of Brothers. Man whore. He is the youngest of the brothers at the age of 24. Plays the guitar and the piano. Nik is Ace's big brother at the age of 26, he is part of the band of brothers. Rex and Jex's younger brother. Rex is Jex's twin, likes to annoy Jex. He is the complete opposite of Jex. The Drummer of Band of Brother's. Jex is the serious twin. Part of band of brothers. Jules is pregnant, recommended for Elizabeth to take the tour, Elizabeth's friend, is on bed rest. Jenny is sweet and the audio engineer for the Band of Brothers. Ben is an audio engineer for the Band of Brothers. Henry is an audio engineer for the Band of brothers. Romeo is a very nice guy. Jack is Elizabeth's boss, he hates when people are late, doesn't like Elizabeth. Miley is the tour manager for the Band of Brothers. She has a horrible temper.
This is my first book by Lyra Parish and I can honestly say that this book will not be my last. It's very well written and the characters are very well developed. I found that this book was very hard for me to put down. I loved that I felt very connected to the characters.

HASH(0x8cd58250) out of 5 stars Love Ace and his brothers! 24 Feb. 2016
By Amber@WickedGoodReads - Published on Amazon.com

To say that I had been patiently waiting for Lyra Parish’s Band of Brother’s series to kick off would be a lie – and I hate to lie. There is no patient about it. I love Lyra Parish and when I caught a sniff she was writing a series about a rock band… of brothers… ARE YOU KIDDING? SIGN. ME. UP.
Ace is about.. well Ace Hathway. The lead singer/baby brother of the group Band of Brothers. He’s the love ’em and leave ’em type. (im using the term “love” in place of a much dirtier word so my review doesnt get taken down from the retailers, but you get what im saying, right?)
Elizabeth Riley works for PHASE magazine, and she is basically forced to go on tour with the band by her bully jerk of a boss. She is very shy, almost to the point of being backwards and to top it off, she is not a fan of the Brothers’ music. The one thing she does want… the elusive and exclusive interview with Ace Hathway, who up until this point has refused to be interviewed by any journalist. During press times with the band, he lets his brothers do all the talking. He is widely known for his music, his bedroom skills and his tight lips with reporters. Elizabeth wants the story, Ace wants his shot with Elizabeth. Sounds like its time for let’s make a deal. ;)
I love the way Lyra Parish develops characters. Even the strongest ones have a vulnerable side and you can see that here with Ace. Very three dimensional and deep, both he and Elizabeth – I felt like I got to see a lot of their personalities in the way the story line played out. The secondary characters – certainly in Jenny and somewhat in Nic, they were also developed well. I would like to have seen a little more of the twins Rex and Jex – than just the occasional cameo.
I loved the ending. Ace came through in the ending in true Lyra Parish style! :) The book as a whole was a solid read, clean editing (I was given an ARC copy) and good character development. I would definitely recommend it for readers who are looking for series books and who want some serious STEAM!!

HASH(0x8cd58334) out of 5 stars #ACEINTHEHOLE 24 Feb. 2016
By Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Dear Lyra Parish, Ace is the first book that I've read by you, and I gotta say, I think I LOVE you as much as I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! Ace is the lead singer of the successful rock group, Band of Brothers. He had his heart broken 5 years ago, so now he has a one night stand after every concert, but it's starting to leave a bad taste in his mouth. Elizabeth is a shy woman who really just likes to be invisible. She loves music, but has serious stage fright so she just works for a music magazine in the backround. When she's forced to go on tour with Band of Brothers, she was worried that she would fail. Instead, she got to know the real Ace, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stay away from him. Their feelings are growing, but there's a rule at the magazine of no fraternization with the bands, so when photos are leaked of them, she's pulled from the tour. Not to mention, Ace's past comes back to mess with him. Can Ace and Elizabeth get past all the bumps in the road to have a happily ever after?

WOW WOW WOW! Can I say again how much I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story?! The character development is great, with secondaries that I can only hope get their own stories very soon. A fast paced, sexy, and very well written story line flows perfectly. The well placed humor had me laughing until my sides hurt, and hot chemistry led to SMOKIN' sexy scene goodness. Lyra Parish did a fantastic job with her talented writing style to hook me from the beginning, while holding me hostage to the end, where I wanted to cry because it was over. I fell hard for Ace as the mouth watering rock star, and Elizabeth was so sweet. I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this author, and especially this series, so I have to HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
