This CD collates songs recorded for a John Peel session, the odd single and some live tracks and despite that mixture of sources is a great CD.
Containing the classic 'Bastard Song of Dean Freidman' and 'Dickie Davies Eyes' this CD is a must have for fans and a great starting point fo the curious.

Even though they split up after the first album (thankfully coming back later), this album, released while there was no Half Man Half Biscuit, has the band finding their sound here. It's lyrically cleverer, musically more interesting, and mostly recorded better. In fact, some of the live versions sound better than their studio counterparts. Also it is the only way to get some of their off-album singles on CD, and the Peel sessions are great.
Also, as if quantity matters, you do get a lot for your money. 17 tracks rack up for 53 minutes of laughter and good music.
In only two albums, Half Man Half Biscuit have secured their position as national treasures, and it's deserved.

Not only do you get 'Back again in the DHSS' but you also get live versions of some of the tracks from 'Back in the DHSS' and the EP 'Trumpton Riots.' This album has a very similar feel to the first, which is no bad thing. Its probably a better buy than the first album as you get more tracks, but you should buy both really, then all the rest, then a Dukla Prague away kit!!

Great songs but the sound quality is a bit ropey. Probably the worst HMHB recording available.

from Wirral's finest including some live performances of the classics. And I count myself lucky that I'm not the offspring of any American singer.
