I wanted a couple of fans to use on a Biltong drying box I was making. these fitted the bill perfectly. Powered by a USB wall wart I had lying around, one fan blowing in, one fan extracting, with variable flow. I removed the grills and rubber feet which are easy to do, and had to fit a different air filter, which is a shame given the nice appearance of the fans!
They fill my purpose spot on, and I would highly recommend them as they are good value and nicely made/packaged.
The fans are quiet, but there is an electrical buzzing noise which drives me slightly crazy, considering the price I don't think its fair to complain too much, it does what I want it to do well. I have a computer in not very well ventilated area and heat was building up when under heavy loads for prolonged periods, these fans do help surprisingly well even on the lowest setting just to shift the air away. If you are near the fans or fussy about noise levels I wouldn't recommend it, I can live with it on the lowest setting though, and I've started using headphones more often which prevents me hearing it too!
If your using these for something over a metre away from you I'd have no hesitation to recommend them, if you sit near them they may annoy you depending on ambient noise around. I like to work in silence so I tend to turn them off when concentrating.
These vents are very well built, not cheap plastic, and very easy to install. Operates very quietly and smoothly and turns on with my xbox which is all I need. Huge difference and immediate improvement as I had them facing the grills and now it just pulls and expels the hot air out. Life saver for my consoles and should have got these sooner!

The only way AC Infinity could improve on the quality of these fans to into industrial grade is if they were to do an all metal fan blade rotors and fan housing, but that also likely would increase the weight and price of the fans.
These fans are a twin-pack, connected to a controller switch that has Off/Low?Medium/High speeds for both performance and noise control. That being said, even on High, these fans are pretty almost whisper-quiet, and any other noise/music/sounds in the background pretty much drown these out.
Each fan as a decent but not overly long length of cord to space the fans apart up to the control module and another length of cord to the usb-a plug. For most people's needs, the length of cord should suffice.
This set also includes a built-in usb-a Female coupler into the same cable, that allows you to daisy-chain another single or twin set of fans. This is a very thoughtful design feature included by the company. These fans easily run off a single usb phone wall charger, or most usb ports on the back of a/v receivers, projectors, tv's , etc.
I don't know how many fans can be daisy-chained to run of a single regular usb power feed (usb phone wall charger, a/v rceiver, etc) but this company also sells a separate Turbo Booster usb power brick that does provide more power for extra fans if you need multiple sets of single or twin-pack fans.
People who require the fans being a fair distance apart may be better off buying a set of single fans, and daisy-chain them together.
The fans have a set of 4 rubber feet on both sides of the fans, and include metal fan grills on both sides of the fan. The feet and grills can be removed as/if needed, if mounting into a cabinet or wherever you need them for your application.
The package also includes a zip-tie or two, and a cable hook/guide with sticky tape, allowing for a bit of tidy cable routing management. Again, very thoughtful of the company to provide these few cents worth of useful extras at no extra cost. This comes in handy when you're mounting the fans inside a A/V cabinet or wherever and can tie up and bundle the excess length of cord or route the cables neatly instead of them just being a loose pile of random wires aka 'rats nest'.
As we've said before, this isn't our first AC Infinity purchase, and by far won't be the last. When you buy a product and realize its good quality for value, reliable and long lasting, it's a no-brainer to stay with that brand.
So *I* was shocked at its short lifespan (especially given the cost, over $200) even if he wasn't.
There is just more electronics involved in these tasks, packed into less space, than the older modems. They are GOING to get hot. So in order to keep that from happening again I bought this USB fan kit, comes with 2 fans hooked together, to replace the floor fan I had aimed at the new modem and separate router. I was getting some of these anyway to put on my LED grow lights to cool them (they will ALSO last longer if you keep them cool) so I took one of those and shoved it under the router (because its a flat design, give me vertical any day) and stood the other one up next to the cable modem (which is vertical).
I've got them on low and they are cooling both devices very well. On low the router gets barely slightly warm, and the better design of the vertical case for the modem leaves it totally cooled down with this little fan. If I had it to do over I'd look harder for a vertical router as well, its easier to keep them cool. AND they take up a lot less space! I've got a bunch of old computer cases with fans going to waste, I will likely make some USB fans from all those old bits and pieces, but they are likely to be a lot louder. This fan is extremely quiet even on high. I can't hear it at all on low.
Also these fans in particular are optimized for humid environments so I wouldn't use anything else in my grow room. A lot of people use the other dual fan kit with the larger fans but they are using them to move air over microgreens to cut down on mold and fungi, I don't have that problem, I just need to cool the lights to improve their longevity, so I'm trying these smaller fans (take up less headroom over the lights, giving me more space under the lights because I can move them further up).
I highly recommend cooling your router/modem/game console whatever electronic devices you have sitting around generating heat with some kind of fan, and these are very quiet, easy to assemble (as in plug them in), and very effective. I've seen some people insist that you shouldn't do this because it might "blow dust into the case" - where do these guys live, in the middle of death valley? LOL! Just do it. I've had a floor fan blowing across my very very ancient laptop to keep it from overheating for about 5 years now (even laptop coolers can't cool it enough) and its still going strong. I can even play (very very old) games on it still. Heat will kill your devices WAY faster than whatever tiny specks of dust these fans probably won't blow into the cases anyway.
Also, if you have one of those stupid refrigerator closet things where they've built an enclosure all the way around the fridge, that is trapping heat and shortening the life of your expensive stainless steel fridge - you can use these fans to draw hot air out of that too (though I'd go with the larger version for that). Personally I'd tear that crap out but failing that, install these in a side or back wall and pull that heat out of there. Your fridge will thank you. Your bank balance will be the better for it over the long haul.
