Format: Paperback
ABC of Diabetes is another in the series of ABC titles from Wiley that are designed to give the reader a simple overview of the condition and it's treatment. I have received many titles in this series that states it's aimed at GPs in particular and have found them to be useful for the medical student, the level of the text is appropriate with detail not being too excessive and the title does not get too bogged down on specific topics.

The advantages of this title are in my opinion the fact that there is an overview of the chapter at the beginning of each, chapters look at a particular aspect of Diabetes and it's management and there is a good use of colour throughout the title with useful and concise diagrams theta help the reader to comprehend the topic.

I feel that where this title could be improved to make it more useful to the reader would be with the addition of an online set of resources, these could contain the chapter summaries, references to more authoritative sources including relevant guidelines and questions for the reader to assess his/her understanding after reading the title.

In conclusion, this is certainly a useful title to use in order to either learn diabetes, it's Pathophysiology, diagnosis and management or to revise it for exams and/or clinical practice.

I have read the paperback £35+ which is excellent. As a retired GP and DM2 sufferer it is readable by most diabetic patients who often know as much or more about the subject than their doctor! Very useful in preparation of talks to non medical groups.
