Meaty, no added filler, wet - but sample amount was too small to determine suitability

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 August 2016Wiggles (yes, that's the name of my cat!) is usually not fussy about his food, but he really didn't like this one. I gave him this in his usual feeding time, he did a lot of sniffing, but refused to eat it. I love my cat and I'm not going to starve him just so I can force him to eat something that he doesn't like, so this ended feeding the rubbish bin while he was happily gorging in his usual favourite.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 August 2016How much! £19 for 16 x 85g sachet of cat food! Originally it was this price for 1 sachet, but thankfully it is now 16 sachets. This makes this the most expensive cat food I have ever tried. I can get a box of 84 sachets of 100g for less than this, making it about 18p per 85g.
As I have 2 cats, I had to share a sachet. The cats both enjoyed it, one was a little apprehensive at first, but did eat it in the end. The consistency is like a thick pate style, it smelled OK, not like cat food at all. You could see carrots and peas in it, and it was easily mixed up with a fork. There is an enormous amount of ingredients listed, some I do not think would benefit cats like pears, apples, blueberries etc. The company states this is a high protein diet food with a Super 8 formula - whatever that means.
At this price, I will not be buying any more as it would work out far too expensive for me. As a treat - no as I would open a can of tuna at less cost.
I have edited my review, as originally the title stated only 1 sachet for the price - which Amazon confirmed. Now it has changed to 16 sachets, a better saving not will have to be a bigger saving for me to consider purchasing these again.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 August 2016So Benny, our rescue cat, was offered this 97% Turkey & Goose wet cat food for tea tonight - what was his reaction?
Firstly, as the photos show, it is quite wet which is good for Benny as he has no teeth to chew or tear with; as cats are frugal drinkers it can also help them get their daily liquid intake. He can just swallow this without much chewing, and won't choke on it because it is not dry.
Secondly, it really was quite meaty. The close-up photo of the food shows this quite clearly and supports the manufacturer's claim that there are no added grain or white potato, which as Benny's servant I feel is A Good Thing, although Benny refused to comment.
But the burning question in your mind, I'm sure, is "Did he like it?". The answer is ambivalent,as he ate some of it then walked off, as is his wont, but he will probably be back again later this evening to have another go. However, whether he would enjoy it again this week is definitely not known as the stingy single sachet of food sent for review means I cannot offer it to him again to make an informed decision.
So no final decision on its suitability can be made nor can I offer any kind of recommendation. Look at the photos and judge for yourselves is the best advice I can give.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 February 2018Expensive and very rich (well, it smells rich - I haven't actually tasted it!), but great for an occasional treat. Seems to be good quality, and my cat likes it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2016I received one single meal pouch to review: based on the reaction of the said beast- it was consumed in one sitting and it was the correct meal size for a young cat- had the appearance of a semi firm so,I'd food in a gravy with no great door but with all these things it's the cats review and not mine: 10/10
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 July 2016When I say "I like it" I actually mean "The cat liked it." I'm a vegetarian so I didn't actually try it. I was only sent one pouch for review purposes, so I can't say (as has been the case before) that if I went and bought a crate of it the cat wouldn't go off it the next day. But... it seems well received.
Alas, it's an 86g pack instead of the Felix or Whiskas 100g, and with no indication of quantity the £19 quoted would have to be at least 60 sachets to make me switch brands.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 July 2016I don’t know if the price information on the Amazon page is correct or not – it appears to be £19.04 for one 85gm pouch, (£22.40/100gm) but this may be for a multipack. The list of ingredients on the back states the following: 97% turkey and goose (includes turkey 50%, turkey broth 30%, goose17%), minerals, sweet potato, carrots, peas, apple, lucerne, chick peas, tomato, tapioca, pear, cranberry, blueberry, mulberry, orange, bilberry, cowberry, glucosamine, chondroitin, parsley, peppermint, spirulina, seaweed, oregano, sage, marjoram, thyme, chamomile, rosehip, yucca, chicory, aniseed, stinging nettle, marigold, fenugreek, cinnamon MSM. Analytical constituents: protein 10.9%, fat 6.4%, crude ash 2.5%, crude fibre 0.6%, moisture 78%, additives per kilo nutritional additives, taurine 1500mg, vitamin D3 200ui/kg, vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) 30mg /kg, zinc sulfate monohydrate 15mg, manganese sulfate monohydrate 3mg, calcium iodate anhydrous 0.75mg.
My cats have dry veterinary science diet in the morning and wet food pouches in the evening. I never vary the dried food, but I like to give them a little variety of wet food now and then, so I was happy for them to try this brand. When you first open the pouch, the wet food looks different from other brands we have used. It isn’t awash with jelly or gravy - and doesn’t fall out of the pouch in a big lump. I only received one pack and - because I have three cats - I carefully divided the pouch into thirds. We had been out for the day and were late coming home, so moggy mealtime was a few hours late. The cats were hungry, so I was expecting them to polish it off, but the majority of the food was left in their bowls. Most cats can be notoriously fussy and ours are no exception, but they wouldn’t eat this food even though I gave them no alternative until hours later. I assume that this recipe is made to a high standard of nutritional values – I’d never have thought that a cat food would contain such a long list of fruits and herbs. My three furry testers didn’t like it at all so I can’t award it any more than two stars.
