Fetching is a rather old fashioned word. But, I have to say, this book was so thoroughly enjoyable. I have read all Elizabeth Young books and usually get them through inter-library loans. But, I actually went out and bought this one and was thrilled that it turned out to be so good. Will definitely be keeping it in my collection.
Keep up the good work Ms. Young. Looking forward to your next one.

Young shows again how she's becoming a master at warm, engaging, funny, and sexy stories. With A Girl's Best Friend, she manages to balance all of the elements - the story isn't too sweet and sappy, but you definitely feel good after finishing it. Izzy is an estate agent in the London area, she's seeing the lovely Leo. Well, he's lovely except for the fact that she never seems to come first with him. Izzy has a great circle of friends - and through them she meets Nick, a Vet in a corner of Devon. Together, they play an important part in a house party murder mystery game. Simple enough - but after that weekend, Izzy's life starts to take a different direction. Naturally, all's well that ends well (for several people and one wonderful dog). In fact, this book features one of the best (if not THE best) "Big Romantic Gestures" I've read - Nick knows the way to a woman's heart is through her dog! Young manages a sharp and often sarcastic wit that never turns bitter or biting, Izzy is self-deprecating without being whiny or psycho. And, unlike many books, the spark between the two main characters rings true. A lovely, lovely book!

I've read all the books by Elizabeth Young and I have to say this was again a wonderful, wonderful experience. To bring fun and laughter together with emotion that would bring a tear to even the hardest heart is a great gift that she has (I cried buckets). I like her humour, her wit and the kindness of heart that many of her characters share and I'm sure the same kindness of heart can be said about the writer herself. A Girl's Best Friend is endearing, funny, heartwarming, heartbreaking with a resolution that any girl reading would love. Keep writing, Elizabeth Young, you have a gift that many people enjoy. Thank you so much. Shirley and the furry ones (dogs). I look forward to your next.

Nick & Izzy are just wonderful and Ms Young brings her familiar humour and excellent touch to their unfolding relationship. A fantastic read, just like her other novels have been, and I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. It's definitely a book for the keeper shelf and to be read again and again. Won't give anything away but read and enjoy!

This was my second Liz Young book and loved it as much as the first, which was the Wedding Date (from which the film was taken)
I just love Liz Young's characters, especially the love interests, they are so gorgeous. Izzy is great and the sort of person you'd love as your best friend and wish you were included in the circle of friends. There were some great conversations going on between them especially Izzy and Nick, so witty and funny I laughed out loud.
The Murder weekend was hilarious, I'd have loved to see them all in their respective roles, especially Izzy as Emerald, the tart with a heart!
I've read several books where dogs feature strongly but none as lovely as Henry and what a great story surrounding him!?
Nick is lovely and the grand gesture he made for Izzy was, dare I say it, on a par with Mr Darcy's in P & P for Elizabeth?
I can't wait to get my hands on more of her books.
As you've gathered, Highly recommended.

This is my most favourite book, I have read it a couple of times already and still like to go back. The dog does steal the show with the book and without giving anything away its fun, frothy, sad and teary!

Read it !
