Product Description

Product Description

Welcome to the third volume of the successful compilation series 80 s Soul Classics. Our latest double compilation is yet another treasure trove of 80 s R&B magic just waiting to be rediscovered. Just like on the first two releases, this Volume 3 mainly bypasses the obvious big names and chart toppers of the time but instead focuses on some cult records, overlooked gems and less familiar artists from the decade. Many tracks and remixes appear here on CD for the first time ever. Discover a hugely entertaining and varied 80 s club collection of boogie-style floorfillers, blissful beaters, jazz-inflected dancers and sleek soul groovers. Satisfaction guaranteed!

If you are a soul collector and grew up in the 70's/80's period you will love this. OK there are two tracks that do not fit the cd, simple heart and Kool and the gang are more pop than soul, but the rest of the cd's are great. The 80's soul classics has been good, although the expensive and hard to get vol 2 is not as smooth as vol's 1 & 3. Vol 3 is certainly the best and well worth the price. If you are into soul and enjoy brass construction / earth wind and fire type stuff give this one a go.

None of the 80s Soul Classics contain a dud track, all soul tracks, Lew Kirton track is a bit special to say the least.

Many tracks are very hard to find on CD release.
Nice eighties funk/boogie selection compiled by funk specialist Francis Depuydt.
Deserves a place in any funk collection.
