About the Author

Aiki Flinthart lives with her family in Brisbane, Australia. Not all the wildlife is deadly, really! Apart from running a business, she's considering putting her martial arts, knife-throwing and bellydancing skills to use and becoming a spy. OK, maybe not.

Have read the whole 80AD series now. Got to be honest, I downloaded them because they were free. Could do with a bit of extra editing to avoid grammatical mistakes but these weren't a huge distraction.

The books are quite clever in mixing online/historical worlds; engaging characters with thought provoking story lines. Essentially I really enjoyed the story through the course of the 5 books and will certainly watch out for this author in the future - even if I have to pay for them...

My rating is based on the series as a whole as opposed to any individual book. The concept is great with 2 kids trapped in a game set in 80AD. I love how they travel the world and the inclusion of mythical and magical beings which they encounter on their travels. You actually live through the characters and suffer with them and celebrate with them. This is a perfect read for teens, young adult or adults who still enjoy computer games

A fitting conclusion to the series and a great if tearful ending. I had more important books to read, three by Hilary Mantell, Peter Ustinov's biography but they all had to wait until I had read the conclusion to this entertaining series. Dear author these characters can do more. How about Marcus becoming an Arthur figure with Blodbal as Excalibur, Jade as Guinevere and Phoenix as Lancelot?

The final chapter. I obtained the whole series free so I should have no complaints. The five books have been an entertaining read.
I think the whole series is perhaps aimed at the younger reader but as an older reader I have enjoyed Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl in the past so I will say I have enjoyed this series of books as well

jade and Phoenix tale through the five quests was great but to save the father at the end and leave Phoenix with the memories of the step dad spoiled the end. I enjoyed all five books and think the way the story was told it made you live the story from beginning to end well done Aiki Flinthart ,,,,

This series of books are a great way of spending your spare time reading. I am reaching middle age now, and although written for teens and young adults I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. I would highly recommend you read these books whatever your age you are.
