Product Description

BRAND NEW 52mm 8-Point Star Cross Screen Twinkle Effect Filter

(star-effect, starburst, glistening, star-flare, cross, cross-screen, twinkle filters, etc)

Suitable For Any Camera With a 52mm Diameter Lens

LIGHT SOURCES IN A SCENE ARE AFFECTED BY THE FILTER, BUT THE ILLUMINATED SUBJECTS AND OVERALL DEFINITION REMAIN UNAFFECTED.

Add some sparkle to your shots and make the light come to life. Achieve postcard effect quality on: Holiday themes, city skylines, street lamp posts, car headlights, candle lights, gaslights or in nature: Sun reflecting off water on the ocean or a lake, or early morning dew drops, snow, ice, etc.. Chose your subject and achieve amazing results.

Star filters are also a perfect tool to use in enhancing the natural sparkle effect in precious gemstone close-up work in combination with our close-up set (please visit my store).

Star filters are one of must haves for both digital and film photography. Why? Because bright source of light is portrayed by flairs, rays universally across cultures (remember how children draw a sun?). At the same time on a photo, or even on a slide, a bright source of light is just a white spot. Star filters are used to translate brightness of the sun, blinks of light on the water, reflections, etc. into a culturally readable image. A Star filter is a must. Period. Most professionals have star filters, not UV filters, permanently mounted on their photo and video equipment.

The 8 Point Cross Screen generates crossed ray beams. They emphasize glaring sunshine reflected by the sea and bring brilliant atmosphere to night scenery. Angle of the crossed ray beams can be set by rotating of filter frame. Generates longer beams with a lens with longer focal distance.

Bought this star lens for my Panasonic FZ45 camera when I seen the low price on Amazon. Tried it out a couple of weeks ago at a funfair in Edinburgh in the evening. It was magnificent it concentrates any bright lights in your photogragh and gives them a twinkle effect. Can't wait to give it another go as it offers up new and exciting photo challenges and opportunities. I would recommend this lens.

Bought this for a ceilidh event i run and wanted something special in the photos.

lots of candles in the room and chandeliers made the effect overpowering in certain shots but did manage to get nice pictures.

The effect of this filter is average at best. Yes you will get those twinkly lights, but not a sharp effect, more a blurred effect. For nighttime shots in the city I found the results quite poor and certainly nothing I would wish to display. It's an odd effect to want to acquire (which is why I bought this cheap filter) and it will be the last I use of it. Post processing software offers better results with a far better degree of flexibility.

This little filter produces an eight point 'Rainbow' effect on points of bright light and the 'star' effect is quite LARGE. If you want a true variable size star (ie without the rainbow effect) I suggest you look elsewhere

As a professional photographer with several years of experience assisting, hanging out with other professionals, and producing my own work, I have to point out that the Product Description for this item is a lie.

Professional photographers DON'T put Star Filters permanently on their cameras instead of UV filters - I've never met a single professional or amateur photographer who does this, nor has it ever been recommended by the major companies I have worked with. These companies include Olympus, Nikon, Leica, and Canon.

The seller is lying to you when they claim that this piece of kit is an essential professional tool. At best, it is a novelty filter. Make your buying decision with this in mind.
