I bought the first five LPs on this compilation when they were released in the fifties when I was a teenager. Listening to them again certainly rock'n'rolls the years back. They are probably, like the man himself, timeless or at least 84 this year!
One or two points though: the track listing given elsewhere for disc 1 is wrong - tracks 1-12 are from 'Rock And Rollin' With Fats Domino' and tracks 13-24 are from 'Fats Domino Rock And Rollin'. This seemingly innocuous point is made even odder by recognising that in the UK the first LP was called 'Carry on Rockin' with a different cover than in the US. It would be good to know why. You can see the eight albums covered on this compilation above.
There are 101 tracks here - you'll have to work out for yourself how much each track costs - but on current offers that can't be bad; although in the fifties tracks were only around two minutes each and a whole LP could be only half an hour long. Equally, there are no notes with this pack - you would have to go to the Bear Family compendium or the Imperial pack 'They Call Me The Fat Man', the excellent book 'Blue Monday' by Rick Coleman or any of the ACE editions of the Imperial releases for interesting information and historical contexts for the music.
For Fats Domino enthusiasts who are completists looking for rarities - there are a couple of tracks on this compilation that aren't easily accessible elsewhere including some instrumental sides that have a lot of r&b weight and drive and sides like 'I Love Her' on disc two that wasn't released as a single and hasn't been made available by ACE or on Rare Dominos Vols 1 & 2. 'Bo Weevil' on disc one is unexpectedly the alternate B track.

What a great collection --and at a very low price --it contains every recording you would want to hear from Fats great sound quality. And some little gems I hadn't heard before--try track 3, disc 3--Fats tinkling away at the piano with a lovely version of " As Time Goes By"---and that's only one of the many "different" tracks. Well worth every penny.

Worth buying just to get access to some of the earlier works by the Fat Man. I much prefer his earlier work compared to some of the later stuff that he did, but obviously that's down to taste. Recommended though.

Those of us of a certain generation will always hold Fats in the highest esteem. A top class performer who had a huge influence on The Beatles, Stones, Animals, John Mayall etc. Its difficult to quantify the huge contribution he made to future generations of musicians ,not alone in the U.S. but also in the U.K. and around the world. This is fabulous value comprising 8 albums and a bonus EP (remember them) of hits. Buy this, go to your den or private place, bring a nice drink and enjoy. You will have a great nostalgic and artistic experience.

I bought this album purely through curiosity ,having a large number of these tracks on vinyl singles and L,P's plus I also have CD compilations.
For a person who has just started to listen to music from this era,it is excellent value but i would stick to the greatest hits compilations.
Why,I am sorry to say a lot of his lesser known material is dross and it has taken this CD to make me aware.I have always regarded him as my favourite artist of any era since the 50's and after playing one disc after another, realised that he must have lived in recording studios to have produced so much product over such a short period of time.I have to assume that the majority of tracks were recorded in the Imperial studios but the voice and sound quality varies so much. Some tracks are just the same tune but with different words and most of the instrumentals are tuneless. At seventy years of age, I have to admit that it was quantity before quality back then .His greatest hits are still the" Greatest "but sorry to see that there was no place for my alltime favourite track "Wait and See"
