Excellent speeds

Bought these to replace a pair of Belkin Powerline AV adapters that were flaky, very bulky and ran worryingly hot. These 7dayshop homeplugs are much more compact, run cool, and rarely have any dropouts. Speeds are also excellent: on a LAN test I measured peak throughputs of 190MBps for plugs in the same room, 170Mbps in the next room, and 90Mbps downstairs at the the opposite end of the house. In real-life usage, I can transfer files at a sustained 6.5MB/s (52Mbps) across the longest part of the network (compared to 3.5MB/s on a strong wireless n signal), more than enough to stream 1080p HD video flawlessly.

Installation is simple, just plug and play, worked fine together my existing Belkin 200Mbps adapters (with encryption turned off).

Knocking off one star just because the software 7dayshop supply to configure the adapters is not compatible with Windows 7 (or Vista) - only Windows XP. You don't really need the software unless you want to enable encryption on the adapters - I understand this is not really necessary in the UK due to the 3-phase nature of the power supply - it's unlikely that the signal will pass through the circuit breaker. But I like to be safer rather than sorry, and was not really comfortable running without encryption. Eventually after much frustrating trial and error I found the Netgear Powerline Utility version 2.0.0.8 on the Netgear site, which despite being intended for Netgear products, can detect and enable encryption on these 7dayshop adapters, and runs on Windows 7 64 bit.

Ordered these having seen a promo from 7DayShop. The delivery was well inside the promised period and the items arrived, in three separate Jiffy bags. I had a slight concern that one box was partly crushed but all three units were undamaged.

Installation is truly simple, just plug them in. I haven't yet tried installing the encryption software that is supplied on a mini CD in each box as I have an iMac, am not sure if the drive will take this disk size and don't want to risk getting the thing jammed. However, I believe the software is also available from the 7DayShop website.

As I don't have that many mains sockets, I have had to plug the units into trailing lead extensions (two of which include filters), all of which is not recommended in the instructions. That said, they all work just fine. So, I now have my printer working without needing to run an ethernet cable across the study floor and the TV, which is downstairs on a different floor to the router, is now up and running with iPlayer.

Overall, a brilliant solution to the home network challenge and at a very reasonable price.

I purchased these to replace one of my two 80Mbps Belkin Powerline adapters that was operating in a mode of non functionality and for which I had paid around £90 a couple of years back. For less than two thirds of that price, I got three 200Mbps adapters which can't be bad. I have installed and used all three and I can't fault them. They are quite small and neat and you can change the relative direction of the 3-pin plug arrangement so that they can be used with the RJ-45 connector at the top, bottom, left or right which is very useful (although effecting the change is a bit fiddly until you get the hang of it). The other main facet is how cool they run (the Belkin's run hot and I'm sure that is what did for the one that stopped working). All in all, a great product which I can heartily recommend.

7dayshop 200Mbps Mini 360 HomePlug / Powerline Ethernet Network Adapter - VALUE TWIN PACK !

Purchased a set (3) of these to replace my very poor WI-FI router supplied by Virgin (Netgear VMDG280). The signals from this would not reach my lounge, some three rooms away.
Delivered next day by Amazon.
Installed one in the Study, next to the computer, and another in the Lounge. Then connected a surplus Belkin Wi-FI router via a RJ45 cable (supplied).

The reception was amazing - it worked as soon as it was connected, and gave me an amazing 17 Mbps download speed according to Speedtest.net on my 2 year old wi-fi laptop.
A second adapter was installed in the bedroom.

After running perfectly for some weeks, one of the units failed to work.

I sent an E-mail to 7Day Shop - which was answered within an hour!!!
After trying some suggested tests, 7 DayShop gave me a Returns number and asked me to send the unit back using a Freepost address.

The replacement has now arrived and works perfectly.

I have never experienced after-sales service like this from anywhere, well done, 7 DayShop!

Bought the triple pack. No problem with my Dell or Lenovo thinkpad. Worked first time. A good buy however just could not get it to work with my SonyVaio PVC-RXG408 PC. Anybody out there who could help
