The Ultimate retro-cool Space Invaders Colour Changing mug. Add Hot Water and watch the design change! Officially licensed by Taito. Space Invaders is an arcade video game designed by Tomohiro Nishikado, and released in 1978. Space Invaders is one of the earliest shooting games and the aim is to defeat waves of aliens with a laser cannon to earn as many points as possible. It is seen by many as the first real arcade game for the masses. It was one of the forerunners of modern video gaming and helped expand the video game industry from a novelty to a global industry (see golden age of video arcade games). When first released, Space Invaders was very successful. Following its release, the game caused a temporary shortage of 100-yen coins in Japan and grossed US$2 billion worldwide by 1982!

Also...please please please DO NOT MACHINE WASH THIS MUG. The salts and heat will destroy the plastic covering on the heat changing elements and overtime they get less darker.
I've had my pacman mug for 2 years (good for a mug) and only now this stuff is failing.
It's brilliant. It heats up as the hot water is added to the mug, and it lasts for quite a while too. Some of the creatures remain there even when it's cold, but it really is a good mug. It's a decent size for those who like a good cup of tea too.
Although it's not bee a problem, I'd remind people that mugs like these aren't generally dishwasher friendly, so beware of that!
