Product Description

Review

A large glossy paperback with two colour photos on each page to fuel your imagination. A useful collection of recipes ranging from soups and starters to dips, everyday meals to breads and food for specific occasions. Without a specific author it lacks 'personality' but this is not an issue if you're looking for a good general vegetarian cookbook with plenty of recipes for a variety of occasions. --The Vegetarian Magazine Autumn 2008

I got this book recently and unlike lots of other veggie cookbooks that languish on my shelf, this one is being used on a regular basis. It's easy to follow and every meal I've cooked so far has been really tasty. Every recipe has more than worked (partner has requested the channa masala several times). There is a no nonsense approach which is hugely refreshing after the bish bash bosh of Oliver, the finger licking of Nigella and the great but complex recipes of Ottolenghi. The book covers cuisine from around the world from Japan to the Middle East as well as some favourites from closer to home. If you're looking for a solid vegetarian cook book packed full of interesting but easy veggie recipies, I recommend this totally.

The title says it all: greatest-ever vegetarian recipes. I've had this book for seven years and I've made tons of these recipes - they ALL work. This is the book I go back to again and again for everyday vegetarian cooking. It should be in every vegetarian's kitchen! I was glad to be able to get hold of a second copy as I had to give the first away to some veggie friends who borrowed it and were very reluctant to give it back!

Quite honestly the best vegetarian cookbook you could ever buy. Full of recipes from all over the world, it doesn't contain any of the boring same recipes you'll find everywhere else. Instead, it has all the recipes of the dishes I'd order from my local takeaway - from loads of different cultures. This will be passed to my kids and hopefullly to theirs.

I am looking forward to making these recipes. I am a new vegetarian because of health reasons so have a lot to learn. I am therefore delighted with this book which seems very user friendly. The price of 1 penny was amazing! The book is in excellent condition amd has a plastic removable cover.

Bought this book after being recommended by a friend.

Have tried a couple of recipes so far. The garlic balti mushroom recipe is gorgeous :-)

Makes a change to cook something without hearing 'ping' when its cooked.

An excellent book with absolutely loads of recipes. Well, 500. Not all photographed, but the ones that are look brilliant. Some of them are a bit advanced for me, requiring some special kit, but nothing that a reasonably seasoned cook wouldn't have in the kitchen. I don't even have a zester, or a baking tin so am a bit limited.

Nicely presented too with thick pages and general all-round quality. It's good to see some breads in here too, but maybe some deserts would have been a good inclusion...but I guess most of those are already veggie.

Definitely recommended.
