How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Exactly what I ordered.

A box, with 200 pairs of earplugs packaged in pairs. I initially thought these were a bit small but after some testing I realised they just weren't in far enough. Easiest to get in, no squishing requred as well as being the most comfortable I've tried (many, many, many) and having the best db rating I've found in commercially available ear plugs! Will last aaaages. Win.

HALL OF FAMETOP 1000 REVIEWER
I have used these earplugs before so knew of their qualities, but having tried these out on the noisiest night of the year (New Years Eve) I have to say these exceeded my expectations. My wife (who dislikes using earplugs) was kept awake by errant fireworks and rowdy neighbours returning from parties all night, whilst I slept like a baby unaware of any cacophony outside.
The trick is to place these in your ear just right and a bit of time putting these in will ensure a restful nights sleep. They have a soft expandable foam built around a firmer core which make these easy to roll small and insert into your ear deep enough. They then expand out and fill your ear blocking any sound, they also have a flared end which helps with insertion and also blocking sound.
Compared to other earplugs I have tried these last reasonably well and block sound well for about a weeks use, but after that the inner core breaks down and whilst the sound reduction still exists, it is a lot less. They are also more comfortable than other plugs and don't seem to hurt my ears when I insert them deep enough to be effective like others do. These come individually wrapped so it is easy to chuck a few in a bag or suitcase when going on holiday and these are invaluable on an airplane with its high decibel level that help fatigue the body.
All in all these are an inexpensive, comfortable and effective solution to a variety of situations where excessive noise is a problem. If you have tried other plugs and haven't been impressed give these are try as they may just do the trick.
Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

These are the nuclear option of ear plugs. They're the most effective at blocking noise that I've ever used, cutting out a lot of louder or sharper sounds (e.g. nearby music) that others aren't able to eliminate. This power does come at a price: they are relatively bulky and you can feel them in the ear much more than other ear plugs. They are not uncomfortable, but you're more aware that they're there - a bit like having the side of your head stuffed with cotton wool.
For this reason, I use somewhat lighter ear plugs (such as the good Laser Lites) to deal with most night-time noise, and only break out the E.A.R.s when there's something seriously loud going on and I need the best noise blocking I can get.
Note, of course, that everyone's ears are different, and this is just my experience. You have to try a few brands to see what works best for you.

I have recently ordered the below ear plugs and after testing them each the 3M ones are truly a huge leap better than the rest. I have very noisy neighbours and have worn ear plugs at night for the past 9 / 10 years, however I just ran out of the previous ones I had, which at the time I thought were pretty good, how wrong I was. With these on there is nothing they could do to keep me awake anymore. They are comfortable to sleep in (I sleep on my side) but be warned I can barely hear my alarm going off in the morning. But I'd rather that than a disturbed nights sleep.
Here are the ones I bought an compared these to,
3M 1100 Ear Plugs
Moldex Spark 7800 Ear Plugs
E.A.R Earsoft FX Ear Plugs (these would be my next best)
Howard Leight MAX 1 Ear Plugs

These ear plugs are slightly larger than some, so they are good for wider ear canals, but even in my small ears the larger size feels snug, I find, and I think it does make them more efficient at keeping out noise. They do a good job of blocking out sounds and are quite comfortable. I use a variety of different plugs for sleeping as I am such a light sleeper, and using them every night does eventually cause the skin to become sore, but I can use these for longer than the foam plugs before that happens.
I have to cut the ends off because they are uncomfortable for me if I lie on my side, as they push the plug against my ear too much (even though I have inserted properly), but there are no problems with retrieving them to take them out as I don't cut them that short. If using when not sleeping, the wider base feels like an extra baffle against sounds.
One of the essential plugs to keep in my kit, I order them regularly.

These earplugs are fiddly to place correctly in the ear the trumpet or flared bit goes into the ear next to the ear canal this is supposed to cut out noise by 27db which if it works would mean almost total silence,
however the flange point is to long and as the earplug works slowly loose due to the heads movement on pillows its effectivness is less and less to the point where i gave up with them, also the way you have to pinch the wide trumpet end bit to make it smaller and then wiggle them into the ear and then hold that pose for 30secs or so is just too fiddly for me.
Well maybe its just me? but iv now gone back to the older classic design type 3M orange earplugs i use at work and at night for sleep (which do work.
i gave 3 stars as they dont work for me but as everyone is different it could work well for someone else so the benifit of the doubt seems fair.

I have been using these for years (who else buys boxes of 200 earplugs?). I use them when riding motorbikes and far more importantly, for sleeping.
I have slept with for as long as I can remember. They block out street noise, the occasional late-night TV session and of course snoring. I'm not saying that you're cocooned in silence but taking 39dB out of the equation really takes the edge off and allows me to sleep like a baby.
There is little to nothing that I buy annually that has such a positive effect on my life (except possibly my wife's birthday presents). A wonderful purchase of an exceptional product.
