5.0 out of 5 stars Worked as advertised 16 Aug. 2013

Used this to reattached the nameplate that fell off our car after 10+ years. I didn't use all the other recommended 3M products. Carefully scraped off all the old adhesive from the back of the nameplate.

Took some measurements first to make sure I'd put the nameplate back in the same spot. Cleaned the car surface first with water, then rubbing (isopropyl) alchohol. Rubbed off almost all the old adhesive using the alchohol on a paper towel with a good amount of elbow grease, being careful not to dent the metal. The pressure and towel surface probably removed more of the adhesive than the alchohol.

Applied the Repair Tape in short lengths to the back of the nameplate as directed. It's easily cut with scissors. Peeled off all the little red bits of plastic tape on the second side - this takes a while - and applied to the cleaned car surface. Pressed on firmly. It's still holding great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff 5 May 2014

This stuff is really cool. Doesn't stick to skin but bonds like steel to emblem plastic and car surfaces. (The clearcoat of a cars paint in my case.) it also doesn't really seem to become an iron bond til you put pressure on it on the surface which is nice with small emblem work. The backing could be easier to remove but most sticky tape has this issue. It flexes well with a strong hold and I'm confident will survive many automated carwashes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best and strongest 3m double sided tape ever 19 Mar. 2015

Best and strongest 3m double sided tape ever. Don't use it if you intend to remove the item... like.... ever. This is the same stuff that holds your car emblems in place. Yup. Exact same. Typically what I use it for - vehicle applications but it will work on everything. It is NOT wide, very thin, but you can use it sparingly and it will work and HOLD. I always make sure I have some on hand. 10+ years now. I am a fan of this product. :)
4.0 out of 5 stars Good adhesive, hard to work with. 12 Nov. 2016

This tape is more like an epoxy than actual tape. I used this to put the emblems back on my car after I removed them and painted them black. The tape/epoxy is not easy to work with and takes some finessing and small movements to correctly place it. It's been over a month now and after a 14 hour road trip on the freeway at 80 mph average all the emblems are still present.

1.0 out of 5 stars bad information. 4 Nov. 2015

Under the technical details this tape is said to be 0.5" wide, and it is not. The picture of the package has the roll of tape hiding the actual size on the package. It is actually .23".
