He has an evening phone-in on London's LBC 97.3 on Friday 10pm-1am, and saturday 10pm-1am.
Nick is a national treasure that not that many people know about, but hopefully, now this first book is out, more people will listen in. His thousands of listeners tune in to hear Nick's take on the news stories of the week, delivered with style, humour and cutting wit. He generally has a problem getting callers to phone in for the first hour, as everyone is having so much fun listening to his monologues on the state of the world.
His book '2010 Wrapped up like a bag of (mmmm) chips' is a collection of the monologues he reads out at the start of each show. They are brilliantly written, laugh out loud funny (and occasionally choak laughing) Nick writes from his own perspective and doesn't pander to celebrity, politics or the emotion of world events.
I would thoroughly recommend you buy this book, it will be the best 6 quid you spend this year.
However, Nick Abbot really should know that the word for 'belonging to who' is WHOSE, not WHO'S. After encountering this error for the umpteenth time I was gnashing my teeth. Do books not get proofread any more?
If you're less grammatically finicky than I am, this probably won't bother you at all, but I found it grating.
I would recommend you listen to him on the radio first though, as I can now hear his voice when I read it, and his delivery is half the hilarity of it
Brilliant book :-D
It was incredibly funny and insightful. Nick Abbott observes things clearly but describes them in an inimitable way.
This is a snort out loud book which I think I will finish at home. I really don't want to get arrested by the London transport Police.
Only Tom Sharp could make me laugh out loud and then came Nick Abbott.
PERHAPS, it would be far more advisable to sign up for the super-duper podcast service. (I suppose Abbot wouldn't get direct royalties from this though; cash goes to LBC)
A solution: maybe Abbot could create a new recording, for Audible, an Amazon company (which can also be delivered via iTunes). (I suppose LBC own the copyright to the actual audio from the shows). As he is a DJ (hey dee-jay!) he could, like, mix the audio himself.
Not really sure how this works as just text. Just shapes on a (virtual) page? Seems so quaint! Nick, please step into the 80s!
For centuries to come, I believe historians covering 2010 will use this as the reference book.
I have to deduct a star for the massive close up of his face. He ought to have removed his sunglasses

I remembered to look at it and quite enjoyed what I saw.
I'm listening dear, you can talk to me.
A Collection of Nick Abbots 'Witty Comments'? No thanks... He's not funny. He's actually horrible and rude.
The mans a phoney.
I haven't read his book nor will I be doing so. I have the misfortune to be listening to his show on LBC at the moment. Read morePublished on 30 Aug. 2012 by GoneDutch
