This is one mighty set for the price.

It comes in two plastic box cases sheathed inside a cardboard box, making it a tidy and manageable set.

The selection is as fabulous as it is broad - BB King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and many of the big names you associate with the Blues. However, there are some more obscure names that you would not normally find on a blues compilation (e.g. Willie Mabon, Bo Carter, Robert Petway etc) and it is this diversity that makes it such a good listen and such a great buy.

Tunes are fine, but in many cases titles do not correspond to tracks. It's a real pain in the whatsit.

HASH(0x958a6a5c) out of 5 stars Lots of bang for the buck! 13 Oct. 2013
By R. Clough - Published on Amazon.com
Just purchased this 10-CD set yesterday for $20 and I love it. Contains many artists that I didn't know about and many that I already did but for anyone who is a fan of the blues this set is a must. You get your usual...BB King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Bo Diddley, Albert King etc but many, many others such as Screamin Jay Hawkins, Jack McVea, Danny Overbea, Blind Boy Fuller, Smiley Lewis, Sleepy John Estes etc. The packaging is OK...2-5 CD plastic cases contained within a carboard cover. The liner notes are nothing special....lists the song, artist, and year of production. The only knock is that a few of the songs aren't of the greatest quality but that is to be expected when the song is coming from say 1934 like Big Bill Broonzy's Mississippi River Blues. Overall this is a tremendous box set for someone looking to learn more about the blues or for someone who wants to add to their already established collection of songs. Pick it up...you will not be disappointed!

HASH(0x9dae2624) out of 5 stars Good buy, but has technical issues 26 May 2014
By John Korkow - Published on Amazon.com
This is a superb collection for the price, and is indeed remastered recordings. BUT, when ripping them, the vast majority of the songs pulled up with wrong titles and artists... Fortunately the booklet that comes with the cd's had all the correct artists and titles, but at 201 songs, it took quite some time to correct all the errors.. (about a 90% error rate). Buy it, but prepare to work for them!
