Whilst this is a good book, I feel there are too many dough recipes.
Also it's American and some of the ingredients are not readily available in the uk. You will need a set of measuring cups to follow the recipes.
The book is fairly repetitive and I had hoped there would be more variety in it.
To be honest I don't think I'd buy the book again because of the above reasons.

I like this book, but I have not used it as much as I thought I would. We love messy play in our house and I was sold on the slime section, but to be honest I would say there is not a lot of variety in it, and we have made a couple. The unexpected bonus is the ideas for "little worlds", but I probably would recommend it for people who need inspiration rather than those who are already committed to the full sensory messy experience already!

This book is great. It has so many ideas in it, whether you have something in mind and want to check for a specific play recipe like how to make slime, get a trusted playdough recipe, or remind yourself of the details for some simple science activities like how to make fizzing or glowing stuff - or if you just want to browse and find something new to do. It's very easy to find what you need, with modifications suggested to make some of the activities taste safe, or gluten free, etc etc..

The pictures are beautiful so all of the activities look so inviting. The activities are really pretty, especially the liquid water colour stuff. I had been reading Asia's blog for a while before buying this book, so I was really looking forward to getting the book and im not disappointed with it at all - it's great.

If you have young children, or are involved in working with children like in a playgroup or children's centre then you can't go wrong with this book. I would totally recommend it.

I bought this book so I could have my own copy as I had borrowed a friends and I was very reluctant to give it back. It has lots of great ideas for all ages and loads of ideas for younger children too. A truly great book for parents and child carers

My partner asked me to get this for her for christmas so I did order one sadly they went out of stock very quickly but assured I would receive it by christmas, and sure enough I did :) when she opened it her nose was straight in there seeing what she could do with our 10 month old son. Also this book is great for explaining the age related activities and states it's safe for certain allergies. My partner is hoping to do her own stay and play group and will be using many of these messy play activities. Thank you :)

Great book packed with ideas but don't expect to be able to get all the ingredients at your local supermarket. A few things require online shopping as the author is American so not everything is as readily available in the UK. But as long as you're not in a hurry there is weeks, months, years of fun, messy, exploitive play inside.

I found this book wonderfully inspiring. It focuses on achievable DIY activities which on the whole are relatively easy to make/do. Within the first day I made dyed pasta, played with dyed water in an empty bath and bought things for a sensory board for my 13 month old. Very pleased!!
