although i had only the song,'just got wicked' by cold i went out and bought their album which is probably the best thing i have ever done. This band deserves to go very far.13 ways to bleed onstage features some amazing songs such as 'just got wicked' and 'send in the clowns'.They must come over to the UK soon PLEASE.This album confortably sits next such bands as Deftones!Highly recommended!Every song is great, and there is something for all tastes maybe even garage!(no)

Whether you love or hate Fred Durst to me he has 'discovered' possibly the best two bands on this planet in Cold and Staind. With reference to the later, if you like 'Break The Cycle' buy '13 Ways To Bleed Onstage'. It is simply brilliant from start to finish. Quite how Staind have become one of the biggest bands across the Atlantic and these guys haven't is beyond me. By saying this it would be easy to assume that the two are incredibly similar and to be fair in many aspects are, especially in the sound and true emotion behind the vocals. However, i would go as far as saying that Cold's construction of music is superior to any one (trying not to blow my own trumpet but i have heard more albums than most). Each song is independantly strong, perfectly pieced together with no use of 'filler' tracks constantly used in Mr.Durst's selection . I know its been said many times before but, however many stars available i would give this album the maximum. I personally believe that 'Just Got Wicked', a song that i havent been able to get out of my head since i've heard it, 'She Said', 'No More' and 'End Of The World' are worth the cost of the album on their own so if you don't buy this LP please do me the favour of trying to download one of these masterpieces. Sorry if it sounds as if i'm one of the band members mother's but, honestly, '13 Ways...' is truely phenomenal and if you like any of Staind's work then you should be clicking on the 'Add To Shopping Basket' button now!

Cold are, along with Staind and Puddle of Mudd, a band brought to the big time by Limp Bizkit's red capped frontman, Fred Durst.
However, unlike the Bizkit's lame rap/metal, Puddle of Mudd's fake angst and Staind's sheer boredom, Cold do at least offer some intelligent, enjoyable music.
Strange then that they are by far the least well recognised band of the lot. If you were put off Cold by their connection with Durst, don't be. The band does still have a sort of grunge/metal sound, but the songs are written in a way that captivates you and leaves you wanting to hear more.
The songs actually have quite a bleak, moody tone, that seems to justify the band's name, in that I feel they almost sound cold (if that's possible). However there does underlie a good amount of melody, and even some catchy guitar hooks - on 'Just Got Wicked' for example - that mean it is very listenable, and not too heavy (I'm personally not adverse to heavy music, being a fan of the likes of metalcore and death metal, but not everyone likes their music heavy).
The album is not a classic, as there are too few killer tracks, rather lots of simply good or very good ones. However, you could do far worse than buying '13 Ways to Bleed on Stage.'

The sophomore release that is 13 Ways. It's varied, certainly, while having a similar sound through all the songs. While Send in the Clowns and Just Got Wicked are the heavier tracks, the album is definitely built around dark, melodic riffs tuned in C, as songs such as Confession, It's All Good and No One highlight and COLD have kept a uniqueness throughout both albums. Scooter's voice is flawless throughout, it seems to twist hypnotically through the album while the guitar riffs crawl across the listener's skin like a spider and the impression that you've felt the same things Scoot sings about gradually slips into your mind. As such it is certainly not "light" music, COLD like their music passionate, as is revealed in the amazingly powerful and poignant acoustic song "Bleed" (though it is emotional bleeding rather than physical; feelings flow through the music as Scoot's lyrics puts words to his feelings in a way both emotive and powerful)
If you want an album to listen to and relate to, this is it. If you want something depressing and raw check out COLD's self titled debut. I can't think of anything bad to say about this. Expect great things from COLD in the future, with Year of the Spider on the horizon.

"13 Ways To Bleed On Stage" is Cold's follow-up album, originally released in 2000. While the 1st album (titled "Cold") admittedly made for interesting "alternative listening", it was a little rough around the edges and a little too...well, morbid.
However, Cold have really stepped up their game for "13 Ways To Bleed On Stage". Indeed, this is much more soothing, emotionally charged album that really sucks you into the music that you hear.
But don't mistake Cold's more "human" approach for a being a sign of complete change. Tracks such as the opening "Just Got Wicked" and "Send In The Clowns" are dark and heavy, while songs like "She Said", "Confession" and "Bleed" (which is one of the best tracks of all) are a little more "mainstream friendly".
It's a shame that the inappropriate and distasteful "Anti-Love Song" knocks the overall appeal of the album down by a notch or two, as the remaining tracks are of a high quality and generally beat the pants off the somewhat patchy tunes on the debut album.
However, this is a marked improvement on its predecessor. "13 Ways..." is strong in almost every area and serves as a great prologue to the band's greatest album, "Year Of The Spider".
