Fresher 4 Longer Fruit & Veg bags

I have bought these bags before and would buy them again. Then, as now, their efficiency is a bit controversial but 3 years down the line they still garner the same lower than 10% negative reviews and I have the knowledge of how well they will work. Being restricted to doing a fresh produce shop less than once a month I really appreciate that they give me access to edible fruit and vegetable virtually the whole of the time between shops - a vast improvement on life before 'the green bag'. No, you cannot go away and forget about your produce - good as they are they only hold nature at bay and it is necessary to still keep a eye out for the onset of decay - but the life of all of everything I have tried has been extended well beyond expectation. To get the full benefit of these bags do read and follow the instructions, a little bit of effort in advance does reap its rewards in the long term. Of course berries will not keep as long as apples and green beans do go before carrots but with a little bit of sense, stock control and minimal effort Sunday's veg will remain near as fresh as the day they were bought.

I bought these back in February and they have been excellent. The photo is leaves from a cauliflower which I purchased 3 weeks ago and used up last week. The leaves have been kept crisp since last week. I have found the same with all my vegetables. So glad I made this purchase. Not sure if I'm supposed to but I do wash and dry the bags to re-use.

Smelt weird and there was a dead bug in the packaging

There was a strong, unappealing smell and I found a dead bug so I was really hesitant to use them with food so they went in the bin. It's hard to say if the smell came from the inner packaging or the amazon box. Either way, I'm sticking to putting a bit of kitchen roll in the veggie box of the fridge and wouldn't try buying these again.

This is hard to believe but bags were puchased over 4 months ago, soon after buying I put two lemons in bag ; on undoing bag found one had gone mouldy and the other was still in prime condition. My conclusion is that the mouldy one must have had a blemish on it when it went in. You obviously must only put perfect fruit in , which you are told on instructions & it will do the job. 4 months is longer than I would have expected any fruit to last, so the bags are doing what they were intended to do.

I would never have thought a bag would extend the life of my veg.....but, it does exactly what it says on the packet! My veg last ages in the fridge and veg rarely go off now. My carrots used to go to mush...now, they last weeks. I'm single so veg don't get eaten as quick as if a couple. These bags have saved me loads and produced little waste now.
