anybody know if the "life" blu-ray is 1080p?

i ask because previous bbc blu-rays (nature's great events and planet earth) are 1080i not 1080p.

can't seem to find the answer.

It can be tricky to most but yes this one is 1080p only the titles and credits switch to 1080i (why BBC) but the footage is 1080p and the best quality you've ever seen.

There are a number of sources that indicate more of the filming is in 1080i:

However I'm not sure if these guys are right. I too have heard it is only the titles and credits in 1080i and can confirm that every other scene looks fantastic!

To be honest even if some of it is in 1080i I doubt many people would notice the difference with their own eyes (unless they have a massive screen). It still looks great and better than loads of substandard 1080p film transfers.

I'm playing this title on my Asian PS3 and I have no idea why all the videos are play in 1080i. No way I could switch to 1080p. Anyone knows what's the problem?

1080 is 1080 is 1080. I don't care if it's i or p, you CANNOT tell with the naked eye. People who say they can see a difference are the same people who tell you they can spot individual frames being played when watching a movie. Baloney! The only time i or p matters is when you are compressing the file. Then, interlacing is very noticeable unless you deinterlace.
