Plenty of adjustment so I can get plenty of clearance. And the safety quick release on the front mudguard so that if
you have a mishap it won't wrap round your wheel and throw you off.
Now people, please do not expect to fit them in ten minutes. Relax, take your time, put the kettle on it
is a two-cups-of-tea job. There are no 5 minute to fit mudguards, end of.
Measure up, don't rush, maybe you will need to make a hole, when they are on, they are on and they are
really well made.
If you want to fit them, you will need, except from standar allen keys etc, something to cut metal and maybe a drill to open a hole (depends from your bike).
It takes some time to fit them but they look great, they are steady-well made and do the job perfectly.
If you don't have spare time (2 hours max) or have no idea of bike maintance or you want something that can be removed easily, this is not for you.
On the other hand if you are pretentious, this is a great deal!
There are videos online to watch about fitting, but BE CAREFUL when you cut the brackets don't make them too small. Take the correct measurements and cut them with 1 inch spare. If you cut them too much the mudguards are useless! It is better to cut twice than buy new brackets!
As usual the delivery was quick, especially given the time of year. The guards look good and when fitted appear to be sturdy and durable, but only time and miles will tell, i hope alyo received a bad batch.
JSF states that they don't fit road bikes, well that's not entirely true as they fit my road bike, however it is a bit of a squeeze and would have been better off with the thinner versions but saying that my bike is at hte lower end of the £££ scale and might be a bit larger than more expensive bikes.
As JSF and JP DENAT both say, yes they are a bugger to get on and fitted correctly, i presume the 'special tools' required are a hacksaw and some common sense although no need to throw them in the bin over a bit of time and patience. They did take a while to fit due to the instructions provided are almost useless, Chances are anyone who buys these will be required to cut the metal poles to length to suit their personal clearance (gap between the guard and tyre) preference and type of bike. This is one of the rare occasions where if you cut a bit to much (no more than 1.5cm though) off you may get away with it.
Overall I rate them just about 4 of 5 due to the effort required to fit and once you cut them they cannot be sent back.
Fitting them was quite a lengthy job but I am pleased with the result and I am in no way experienced in bike maintenance. View the video on YouTube, make sure you have the correct tools, follow the instructions and be prepared for it to take an hour or two. Fit the stays to the mudguard first and remove the back wheel before fitting the rear mudguard.
If you need to shorten the stays then you can do this with a hacksaw (but you need to remove the whole mudguard from the bike to do this and then start again with the fixing) or you can use heavy duty wire cutters (which can be used with the mudguard in place but then it is very fiddly to reattach the mudguard to the stays and you also need to watch your eyes when the end of the stay that you have cut off pings away like a bullet).
Comes with all the required fixings and fair instructions. The product is well made - as you would probably expect from German engineering.
Appear to be very well made and would happily recommend to many of my friends (all have practical skills).

OK, admittedly, they're a right faff to fit. Once on and adjusted though these are very classy indeed and made all the difference to the restoration bike I was working on. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Matthew B.
Very nice glossy finish and clearly a superior product. Fitted to the bike they look good. Slightly fiddly to fit, and easily scratched, but a quality bit of kit.Published 1 month ago by simonh
very hard to fit. it was needed to remove the quick release and the rear tire in order to get it done.
Once it was fit it looks just fine.

Mudguards are well built, however the assembly instructions that come with them are substandard for what you'd expect these days. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Don't Evolve
