The book was a very useful accompaniment to a great holiday. We had set out a general plan as regards where we wanted to go and this book was both a help in doing this and also for finding other things to see on the way.
I'd recommend this as an ideal companion to either the Rough Guide or Lonely Planet Guide to the area of the USA that is of interest.
This book shouldn't be considered an outright travel companion, as it has little information on accommodation and general travelling advice. It won't replace Lonely Planet or Rough Guides, but if you have space in your luggage, it will make a useful addition to these. And those not able to make space for it, or who don't visit N. America often - it works just as well as a miniature coffee table book!
