If you already know some basic Norwegian bokmål vocabulary then these are vaguely useful exercises for consolidating your knowledge of individual words, but in a clumsy format that doesn't promote efficient learning. Exercises give a single English word, then a list of five different Norwegian words. One must mentally choose which of these Norwegian words is the equivalent of the English, then click a link to the answers section to look up if you chose the right word.

Pros: the vocabulary is genuinely useful for everyone learning the core basic language.

Cons: Exercises feature single words without any context - no full phrases. Answer list is continuous so you see the next few answers when you look one up. The answer list does not link back to the exercises, so getting back to carry on your work is cumbersome. The grammatical form of words is inconsistent: some nouns are given with definite article endings ('the' form), others are in indefinite form but without the preceding indefinite article (like the English 'a'/'an') so one cannot check if the noun is masculine/feminine/common gender or neuter. There are a couple of errors in the answers when the removal of indefinite articles has changed the meaning, e.g. 'someday' is given as 'dag', which simply means 'day'.

The alternative answers are very different words - not at all similar in spelling or meaning to the correct answer or to each other. This makes choosing the right answer quite easy if you have a rough idea what it might be. Whether this is good or bad depends on your individual needs and learning style.

Overall, I don't think this is a good investment. I'm sure it could be developed into a more useful form by the author for a future edition.

Terrible organization, just lists of words that you are supposed to guess the meaning of and not even useful ones. I don't think it's formatted correctly for kindle, but I can't even tell because the text is so pathetic. Total waste.
