If you want an in-depth guide and analysis to property investment then this is not the book to buy. This is a culmination of advice from experienced community members and the authors to give you little bits of insight that you might take away and research for yourself some more. I do not think there is anything groundbreaking in here that you could not already hear on the property podcasts that the authors create - It is just compiled nicely into a cheap and simple tips book.
This would be good for someone looking for a very brief read on property investment. Ideally a beginner who can pick it up for 15 minutes a week or so. You could easily finish the book in a single sitting if you read it as a "traditional" book.
It has a variety of tips from all sorts of people, including the authors. Here I I see a slight downside. Sometimes information can be conflicting due to coming from two sources with unique experiences. One might recommend a bit more caution and advise doing lots and lots of homework before any decision. The other source might say that the best way to learn and succeed to is get stuck in. Neither are wrong and both tactics can work but the reader might be left thinking "well.. where is the tip that tells me which one suits me!"
Overall the information inside I feel is not as in depth as I would have hoped. A general search on the internet might result in similar results off a forum post for some info. I was hoping that there would be a lot more detailed analysis and insight into some of the tips.
For £4 its worth a read if you are interested in property investment.
You will need to do more than buy this book in terms of research but this will give you the basics and some great advice as to which areas to concentrate on in terms of research and what things to know and what questions to ask etc. I also realised when reading this book, that many of the things I was planning to do for my first purchase amounted to rookie errors so it's nice to be steered in the right direction.
It is definitely worth reading.
I think that the book may have some good tips in it. I haven’t read it all yet. I am put off reading any more as I spotted a very basic misprint quite early on. When describing yield the calculations is written back to front.
This has left me suspicious of what else may be wrong.
It is a shame as I think it is probably just bad editing and proofing.
I usually get a bit skeptical when books provide "wisdom" which seems to just come from the author's own opinions, so this little book is great for me as it provides hints and tips from people other than just the one person.
Thanks Rob D!
