Highly recommend this book to all educators. It is really accessible, shining a light on the gender gap in education and the particular challenges women might face in progressing to senior leadership. The wide range of informed contributors give practical strategies to inspire women into leadership. I read the whole book in two days and have lots to share with colleagues!

10% Braver has changed my life and in waiting for it’s arrival in anticipation, I took some brave steps I would otherwise not have taken. This of course, was with the support of the wonderful, inspiring, talented and powerhouse women that make WomenEd what it is. Since reading the book I have increased my network, learned from the best, made new friends, written a blog or two and am now speaking at my first event! It doesn’t get better than this. Thank you WomenEd, thank you for having that coffee, for meeting up and transforming the lives and careers of women across the globe.

I have followed the authors of this book on Twitter for some time. I’m interested and motivated by those women who have pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to achieve real positives in a many aspects of education. I like many women am good at highlighting my negatives and not focussing in what I can do, what positives I bring. This book was read in between appointments at year 9 parents a evening and after they had all gone home. I feel 10 % braver to not only complete my NPQH but to apply for my dream job. Glass ceiling? What glass ceiling? I’ve passed two copies to colleagues in school. Thank you ladies. Perfect inspiration, a kick to action but courage to do it as well.

This book does what it says on the cover - Inspires Women in Education. It certainly makes you reflect on your position in the educational workplace and think about what is holding you back as a woman. It has definitely made me 10% braver as I now have a meeting to negotiate role and salary in the next academic year. Thank you to the contributors to this book and for helping me find my voice in the workplace!

This book didn’t do what I thought it was meant to. The book challenges gender bias throughout and gives some incredible insight to the gender issues in education. I’m not convinced however, that I feel any braver. Instead I feel it was more about equality (which is great, but I really wanted to come away with the confidence to take a leap in my career) and pushing the WomenEd movement (again, brilliant and more power to them). If you’re looking for a book similar to ‘boys don’t learn’ with the focus on women and careers then go for it!

This book is a must-read for dedicated women - and men - in education.
It speaks to our hearts and souls of mission and vision, passion and purpose.
In such a complex and challenging profession, we are given inspiration and clarity about how we can all make a difference - in many ways - but above all by being 10% braver!
Congratulations to all the authors. I hope this goes global!
