The soundtrack to 10000 BC sounds great. Exotic woodwinds, tribal percussion and chants layered over the orchestra makes this Kloser and Wander's best effort to date in their collaborations with director Roland Emmerich. The final three tracks are simply stunning and reprise all the main themes in what is essentially a nice 8 minute suite. The sound quality is great, and I like it that the woodwind section in the front of the mix an isn't obscured by the remaining section of the orchestra.

Despite all that is good to say about this score, there is one problem. One of the themes does contain some very obvious and note for note references from Hans Zimmer's King Arthur -Ost-. I for one wish composers would avoid plagiarism, it just shows a lack of originality and promotes laziness. However, I loved the theme in King Arthur, and it is treated to better variations and orchestrations in 10000 BC. In the tracks such as Sea of Sand, You Came for Me and The End, if you find you like the theme, I am sure you would enjoy the source material from King Arthur.

Overall, if you can overlook the highly obvious references to Zimmer's themes from King Arthur then there is plenty to enjoy from this soundtrack. It is an easy listening action score, with some great slower more exotic tracks.
