A photographer and former teacher, Louis Berk's work has been published in newspapers and magazines in the UK, US and Italy, as well as in books on subjects as diverse as Banksy and the 'Boris Bus'. In 2008 Louis Berk published 'Walk to Work' the result of a 4 year photographic project based in Spitalfields, Shoreditch and Whitechapel. This was followed in 2010 by 'School Work: One Day in the Life of an Outstanding Secondary School' a unique pictorial investigation into how a modern secondary school operates. In 2012 Louis Berk published "Ampthill: A Picture Book to Remember Her By" a personal architectural perspective on the unusual colour-coded tower blocks at Mornington Crescent in London. Louis Berk has three books with Amberley publications, "Whitechapel in 50 Buildings" and "Secret Whitechapel", jointly authored with Rachel Kolsky, and "East End Jewish Cemeteries: Brady Street and Alderney Road", the result of a 5-year photographic project in two of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in England, to which he was granted exclusive access.
