Khadija Zeynalova is an award-winning professional composer and musicologist. She was born in sunny Azerbaijan. Since her early childhood she has been engaged with music and started to compose at the age of just ... 11. Having studied Bachelor Degree in composition and musicology at the Baku Conservatory, she then completed her Masters degree in 2000. She continued her study with Prof. Martin Christoph Redel at the Detmold Academy of Music, in Germany and successfully completed her PhD degree in Musicology with distinction.
Khadija has been a member of the Azerbaijan Composer’s Union, , Azerbaijan Association of Women in Music as well as International Alliance for Women in Music. Since 2007 she has been a member of the GEMA in Germany.
Her pieces have been performed in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Oman, Turkey and many other countries.
She's a winner of various music competitions, including the International Composition Competition “Hamburger Klangwerktage” in Hamburg, 2007.
