Faye Hicks is a Canadian writer and civil engineer who has been a university professor and researcher for the past 24 years, working in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. Faye is also an enthusiastic musician - she plays ukulele, guitar, fiddle and bodhran in a folk music band with her husband Les, entertaining local seniors near their home in Edmonton, Alberta. Faye and Les are also avid animal lovers - over the past 15 years they have fostered more than 500 cats and dogs for a local humane society.
