Does your pc have Bluetooth enabled. If yes link your Galaxy Note to your pc by Bluetooth. Once you have done this choose which pictures you want to send and press ok. If your pc does not have Bluetooth then you can link up your devices by using the Micro USB cable by connecting one end to the phone and the other into the USB port on the pc. Using Samsung kies application can also be used effectively to upload your pics. Hope this helps. Let me know.
Yes I did try plugging the usb cable into the computer but nothing happened, that's why I wondered if I needed some software. I'll try doing it through kies app tomorrow and will let you know. Thanks.
A rather unusual way is to download from Google Play an app called "Android Skydrive Browser" for your phone, and download and run Microsoft Skydrive on your PC. You will need a Windows Live or Hotmail account to log in. This will allow sharing of all kinds of files (Not just pictures) between your phone and PC. (Also gives you 7Gb of Cloud storage for free) As it is a Microsoft official product it is completely kosher and so far pretty reliable!
Try this on your Galaxy Note. Press the menu button first then press settings ok. Then press More...Then press USB utilities. OK so far? Now connect your Micro USB power cable to the Phone in the Micro usb port & the other end of cable into your pc via the USB port. Now with computer switched on ready press the white "Connect storage to PC" button. Upload files to pc

Is your Galaxy Note running "Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 " or "Gingerbread 2.3.5." Sounds like your Galaxy Note hasn't had the most recent firmware update. Press menu- then settings- scroll to bottom of list tap about phone -check for software update ok
Your Galaxy Note should be running Ice Cream Sandwich now not Gingerbread. You need to update over a Wifi network as the file is substantial at 320 mb or so. Maybe your mobile network provider hasn't released the update yet? Have you checked?
- Connect the phone to a USB port at the back of the pc, sometimes the forward facing USB ports do not correctly register smart devices. Ensure the phone's homescreen is not locked after you connect it.
- Is the USB cable faulty? You should hear the phone "beep-bip" when it's connected and the battery icon will indicate the phone is charging. Try a different micro USB cable if it does not do this.
