Good product, relatively easy to fit it yourself,
This review is from: yale hsa 6400 communicating wirefree alarm petfriendly pirs
Bought this HSA 6400 after an attempted break-in. In total it took about a day for hubby to fit, control panel needs access to power and phone line (if you are choosing to use the 'phone' feature - you don't have to).Would advise drawing a paper template with screw holes marked for actual external alarm unit as it is a trifle heavy to hold while drilling, better if you do the holes first with a template, then clamber back up the ladder and screw the alarm in place. Or perhaps use the dummy box as template - we'd already put that up at the rear of the house, so too late! Instructions relatively easy to follow, read carefully and you won't need any external help. This wasn't our 'forte' but assembled without much trouble and didn't need to call a helpdesk. Purchased a further 3 pack of sensors as there weren't enough for us, easy to buy separately (but not cheap) and adding to the basic unit is NO problem. We like a lot of the features of this model, particularly being able to set several different 'codes', we've each picked our own different set of numbers which are easier to remember if you choose all your own and the keypad shouldn't become worn as it might if we constantly all punch in the same code. Only criticism is I find the keypad a trifle 'soft', would prefer a definite 'clicky' type PRESS when keying in, also, while the unit is beeping because you've come in, the keypad makes the same 'beep' sound with each press of a number. Found it a bit difficult to determine whether my key presses had been acknowledged or not. At first just had to watch the display to make sure a star appeared with each press. Got the hang of it after a week or two. All in all we are happy with this product, quality, price and ease of fitting. Paid about £190 with a free key fob - which we haven't used.

This alarm is very good and has a host of useful features. It is incredibly easy to set up and install, and the longest part of the installation was getting the ladder out of the cellar... The components feel very well made and of high quality. I added a couple of extra keyfobs, although in my situation these are not essential. I din't bother connecting the alarm up to the phone as I don't need this functionality. I would throroughly recommend this alarm.

Good product - no need for helpline,

What do you need a helpline for? READ THE MANUAL!! Then read it again. This alarm system, like all DIY alarm systems, can be tricky to fit, but once you've got your head around the basic principles it's easy. It's also expandable, so you can add extra sensors when you need them.If you want to pay a fitter hundreds of pounds to do what you can easily do yourself for free, that's fine - you just need some common sense and the ability to read
