After searching for hours for a solution to my problem (wanted to connect an LG sound bar to my TV but TV didnt have an optical connection) I found a HDMI switcher was my best option.

I did some research and found this Matrix to be the cheapest and also had the best number of inputs and outputs I needed.

I was a bit dubious due to it being so cheap compared to other but I was very pleasantly surprised. The build quality is fantastic and its very sturdy, the fuctions are easy and the sound/picture it produces are flawless.

I now have my PS4, PC, TV, and Sky box all hooked up to it and outputs going to both optical for my soundbar and headphones for when the missus is getting irate about the "ridiculous" volume I watch films and play games!

Couldnt be more happy, great product, would recommend!

I bought this to allow my TiVo, Xbox, Pi and WDTV live to be split into my TV or my projector. It is well labelled and connecting was easy. I had 4x hdmi in and was using 2xhdmi out and the spdif out to 5.1 speakers.

TiVo worked through both devices no problem, as did the Xbox. I only spent a couple of minutes with the Pi, but that did not seem to be recognised by the matrix. I never spent any time trying to figure out why, The WDTV live also displayed no problem, however not all files played through it were transmitting with sound. It was primarily 5.1 surround sound mkv's that wouldn;t play (stereo mp4's and avi's were fine) Could be something to do with the encoding. This means I am still having to revert to taking the sound separately via optical.

While it isn't a massive negative, the behaviour of the matrix when changing between sources or switching an output device on or off isn't ideal. Any time the source is switched one one of the outputs, the other output loses its feed for a couple of seconds. Likewise, if I switch my projector off, the source to the TV will go off for a few seconds. This isn't a problem in my set up as I will be using one of the other, but it could lead to problems if both outputs were being used at the same time.

Finally, there is an audio button that on pressing may cycle between different audio output formats. As it does this it flicks back to HDMI1 input on each button press. I haven;t exactly figured out what this button does, but I know I can get my 5.1 out of my Xbox and TiVo which is the main thing for me.

This was bought to enable a satellite box with hdmi out only to send 5.1 surround sound signal to my home cinema system via an optical out cable. Set up is easy, the box seems very study and well made and I am very happy with this product.

Works exactly as specified, some reviewers complain of the fact that both TVs sometimes briefly lose picture for a second if an input change on both outputs to the same source is selected. This is due to handshaking and usually occurs if a 2nd tv is switched to the same input as the 1st tv. For the source to determine what resolution it needs to sends it needs to handshake. I've had one of these in the past that didn't do this and it causes problems, often requiring the source device such as a set top box to reset.

Remote control performance is good, clear as to what input goes to output etc.

Loses a star for the randomness of the Ports, wish id picked one with all the inputs/outputs on one side as it's easier to cable manage.

This little gem not only saved me from a constant swapping of cables and connections as it also doubled my setup woth twice as many HDMI inputs as before.
I have the cable DVR, PS4, PS3 and PC connected to two TVs at the same time and I can have any of those devices display the image on one TV or the other or even on both, how awesome is that!! And since I have a Harmony Remote control I can have all controlled with the press of a single button! Love this thing!

I also looked far to find this as I wanted to have it at a remote location from my viewing. It works (1080i) fine and drives a 25m HDMI cable OK.
The only issue is that my Humax Freesat receiver must issue some strange HDMI data when I use the right button to traverse the programme guide, sadly this trips the Matrix offline and it needs a manual reset to recover, which of course is not available on the remote!

Works fine as an HDMI switch, a bit slow but does the job quite well. The optical audio out is a big disappointment though. I was one of the main reasons that I chose this unit over other switches. There is about a half second lag on the digital audio output, which makes it totally unusable.
Using this unit to as a splitter to feed HDMI video to Rapberry Pi Hyperion based Ambilight system.

Works much better that one I bought from America but you still have to play around with the remote when switching sources, and I don't mean just press the correct button, sometimes you have to press the wrong one followed by the correct one!

Sound works much better that the old one even though I suspect that the two boxes were made in the same factory in China.
