Just tried to use the new digital copy of "contagion" and it doesn't work. It requires signing up to two different online services just to download the copy (which you have already paid for).

But try this on a portable device and it aborts immediately, even though it's meant to be apple and android compliant, this feature doesn't even try to work.

It does work.
I use it through my Flixster app on my iPad. It was easy to do.

I downloaded the Flixster app onto my iPad from the itunes app store, I then went onto my computer and logged onto Flixster.com.I clicked on redeem UV code, it took me straight through four quick easy steps, which included creating an account for Flixster and UV. Bingo less than two minutes later my film was in my Flixster movie collection, which I can view on my iPad. I also pressed the download button in my app and within 2 hours it had downloaded onto my app. I can now watch it offline as well as online. Now I'm all setup ( just like I had to do with iTunes) all I will have to do in future is log onto Flixster, redeem code and bingo it will be there, no hassle.

I know it is quicker to download with an iTunes code because the digi copy is on a disc but it's just as easy, you just have to wait for it to download. Maybe Warners don't want to keep putting an extra disc in all the time, that will be useless once the code has been redeemed. Saying that though Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol came with an iTunes code only, no disc and that took 2 hours to download also. I guess they want everybody to have the digi copies to watch on android devices aswell so it's not confined to just iTunes. I know you can download the normal iTunes digi copies onto the hard drive on your computer, but I'm not sure if you could then transfer that copy to an Android device as it may not be compatable. I don't have an Android device, so I don't know about that.
But the UV copy works a treat.
Try it.
