Alessandro (Al) Maranca is a gifted Neopolitain musician/songwriter currently living and working between London and Rome. Together with his band 'The Round Coloured Note' his debut album, 'From Poison to Medicine', is a smooth blend of perfectly roasted melodies that offers a fresh twist to the universally-loved chillout genre associated with Cafe Del Mar, Budda Bar and the like. Al's rich and seductive southern Italian baritone vocals glide effortlessly over a sea of calming and uplifting jazz vibes dished out in equal measures. There's a unique spirituality that shines through on many of the tracks, born from Alessandro's personal thirst for answers and devout study of some of the great world religions. A truly beautiful musical work that is something to be savoured again and again. Thank you Snr Maranca! Although the album is not available from Amazon at the time of writing (shame on you guys!), I managed to find it on cdbaby.com, where you can download it for around £6.
