Do you think that Sony should enable us to remove trophies we don't want?

Hi all,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on this subject. Do you think it would be a good feature as it would allow us to clean up our trophy lists i.e. you rent a game to find out you cant stand it and now have a 1% score in your list you would rather remove.

Yes. I must have about 40 ish games on my trophy list, many are below 10%.

I also think, like Microsoft allow, they should let us change our PSN ID's, for a cost, i wouldnt mind if i had to pay like you do with Microsoft. I would pay to change my ID if it cost say, £5 or so.

Yes,-I-had-wipeout-trophies-installed-when-they-put-the-demo-on-my-history-but-made-it-look-like-the-full-game-and-it-is-just-there-at-0%-seriously-considered-changing-my-ID,-in-the-end-I-just-bought-a-360-(partially-in-protest),-but-it-really-pi**ed-me-off-and-I-think-you-should-be-able-to-remove-trophies-you-don't-want.

Trophies-also-put-me-off-renting-games,-as-i-don't-want-the-1-to-5%-trophies-on-my-list.

Nope I don't think they should, I see it as entirely pointless. A low percentage score is an indication of how much you didn't enjoy a game rather than how bad you are at it. I've looked at other people's trophies to see whether certain games are popular with good longevity and if not many people have it or the ones that do and have low %'s then I will likely not buy it.

Good point ian, I've never thought of it as a kind of informal review before ;)

as for the op, no, trophy histories should be on show, warts-n-all as it were. I have some bad or easy games in my list but what the hey? After all, it's not like I played hannah montanna!!

I think it works well how it is on the 360, where you can delete the Achievements from your profile as long as you haven't unlocked any of them yet. It can be annoying to put a game in, get a Trophy/Achievement straight away only to find out you absolutely can't stand the game. The only time I've used the delete function on 360 was on Family Game Night, which I downloaded because it was free then found out you didn't actually get any of the games to play without paying. You did however get the Achievement list added to your profile so I was very glad to be able to get rid of it.

 Mister Em says:
Maybe they could make a few changes to the system so that games only affect the overall percentage if the percentage of the game is higher than the mean?

I've thought about this and it does bug me when I see games that have 1 or 2 bronzes on, on my name because friends have brought the game over.
Like they did it to make me buy the game or something lol

Good call, the list of trophied games is going to be pretty large to filter through. If not delete then a way of hiding games you are not arsed about.

Yeah, I think most people would settle for this. If you've already earned trophies it's kinda tough luck - the load on Sony's servers must be enough as it is without the need to complicate the system further. Removing 0% games from your records seems a realistic compromise though.

In answer to the topic title.

Yes.

No.

They should let you remove games from your list if you have no trophies at all (assuming the PS3 keeps a list of those), but as soon as you earn 1 trophy it should stay on your list. If they let you remove any game from the list regardless of how many trophies you've earned, then comparing trophies with other people would be pointless. Trophy leaderboards (assuming they exist like they do on the 360) would be pointless. Demos shouldn't allow you to earn trophies anyway, but if they do on the PS3 as is implied above, you should be able to remove those.

never known a demo to have trophies :) i'm not bothered about removing trophies from my list and i have a load of games with 1% of trophies completed. if you are going to have trophies then the trophy list should have all the trophies you have gained.

You can get a few trophies from the Wipeout HD demo apparently, although I think it's a mistake rather than intentional.
