I'm finishing up the first book and thought it was a bit slow, only really starting to pick up in the last hundred pages or so.
Is the second book more fast paced? I'm hoping the first was primarily scene-setting and things get good in the second one, but don't fancy another 1000+ pages of not much happening.
If you weren't a fan of the 1st book then you may not be a fan of the 2nd. It is in the same vein. I personally liked it a lot and the Void trilogy which takes place in the same universe is also top class but then if you didn't like Pandora's star then may not be for you.
Hi W Nelson - I would reconsider your choice. If you liked the pace of the last part of the book, I would stick with things. Hamilton certainly does like a big build up, but there are some very good action sequences in Judas... . The finale is essentially one long chase sequence, a fact which some have criticised but one which I felt made excellent reading. A suitable comparison is the forest pursuit in the Reality Dysfunction - that genuinely left me short of breath.
Plus, how can you live without finding out who/what the Starflyer is?
