Kerrlyn Sparks is another writer who writes vampire romances. These are light, humorous and entertaining.
Two series I've read and would recommend are the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward, and the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. Mary Janice Davidson books - Undead series (Undead and Unwed/Undead and Unreturnable etc) - comedy/vampire/romance.
Also for something different but hilarious/romantic and ballsy - try Janet Evanovich Plum Series - absolutely brilliant and laugh out loud stuff. The whole series is about a girl called Stephanie Plum who finds herself employed as a Bounty Hunter hunting criminals who are weird and wonderful/her boyfriend who happens to be a cop and her colleagues and her family especially her grandma - its SO funny. First one is One for the Money, then Two for the Dough etc. Goes right up to Finger Lickin Fifteen which is just out now. I'd recommend them highly to anyone.

The Trueblood series is wonderful. Sookie Stackhouse is a great character. The love of her life, Bill Compton(vamp from the American Civil war) is every womans dream vampire. Sexy, seductive, unfailingly a gentleman, nice big... ahhhhhhh........ fangs. The supporting cast of characters is rich and diverse. You may really enjoy it.

Not sure whether No. 1 Chesterfield Square by Nick Jones meets your criteria Alex but I'd recommend this book without hesitation. A great saga with a strong romantic theme running throughout in various guises. Marvellous characterisation and an expansive and clever plot had me hooked.

I can easily agree with Melody. No. 1 Chesterfield Square is a great read I thought. Has everything a saga should have in abundance, totally believeable too. The customer reviews on here are absolutley right in my opinion!

Have a look at my page on amazon, gots lots of recommendations. I would start with JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood, then Kresley Cole's Immortals after dark, Lynn Viehl Darkyn series, Nalini Singh's psy-changelings, Gena Showalter's Lords of the underworld and Alien Huntress series. NightWorld is also good, but more Young Adult, like Twilight. Vampire Academy is also good. C. McCray's Magic series is also great. Happy readings!

You could try my "Angel Mountain Saga " -- six books so far, with the first one entitled "On Angel Mountain." No vampires, but a lot of strange goings-on, with premonitions, phantom funerals etc and a very strong character who is a wizard. The heroine, one Martha Morgan, also has special powers which cause her quite a few problems....

Agree with Tessa, try Kelley Armstrong. Not 'soppy' romance, more 'complicated' romance but fantastic writing and great stories.
