Top band, highly entertaining live, and totally unique as FDJ says. Seen them live several times, though not for a few years now.
If you're not familiar with their albums, I'd suggest you start with the first two, Exile on Coldharbour Lane and La Peste. I'd say the quality dropped off a bit after that, but they've all got some bangin' tunes. We have this big old house on our street, it was recently converted into flats. It was empty for a year before the developer got round to working on it. During this time it was a squat and guess what? They had a party in the garden and who played live? Yep...the Alabama 3.....well seven of them to be precise. They were fantastic, loads of bods complained, I don't think they had ever heard anything SO loud in their lives.....or not since the war anyway!

Mr. S. R. Jackson says:
Alabama , seen live, are a revelation. I had always had a liking of their work, but when they get their revs up they are astonishing, The problem is (and some may not see it as such), they are often off their heads on drugs. But for originality and great political wordsmiths, they are almost unbeatable.

I have to disagree with the views expressed. I saw them once years ago at The Limelight in Belfast and they were truly appalling. Possibly the worst gig I've ever been to!
