'When The Pawn Hits The Conflicts He Thinks Like A King What He Knows Throws The Blows When He Goes To The Fight And He'll Win The Whole Thing Fore He Enters The Ring There's No Baby To Batter When Your Mind is Your Might So When You Go Solo. You Hold Your Own Hand And Remember That Depth Is The Greatest Of Heights And If You Know Where You Stand. Then You'll Know Where To Land And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You Know That You're Right' by Fiona Apple? Probably not the longest out there now but I think it's in with a good chance... Claire

I have an idea to make this thread interesting. Observe the thread title. Swap the third word from 'Long' to 'Big' Remove the letters L and E from the fourth word.

spiderboris says:
Er, yes. There was I poised to do the Fiona Apple one, yet again, like I probably have done several times already, in this endless repetitive cycle of life, death and trivia. Some of us zimmer-frame wielding, reprobate old-timers can't remember where we left our glasses, or teeth, or bras, but we can, of course, flash longingly back to those halcyon days about a year ago, when we had a conversation about Michael Jackson being incapable of making a comeback (RIGHT!!! I WAS PROVEN RIGHT!!!! ahem) as well as debating whether Oasis were crap or not (they were)
You certainly can't talk about either of those things now! Well, you can say, 'they were crap,' and 'his comeback was slightly disappointing to say the least' but that would be accurate as you would be talkiing about them in the past tense. Except back then we were using the present tense, so if you were to go back and read any of those posts from about a year ago, none of them would make any sense. Apart from the ones about Oasis and Michael Jackson. Cha'mon, our kid! Oh, all right, I think this is the other really long one that is probably the technically longest ever, although there aren't enough minutes left in my entire life to double-check the facts. THE FACTS, KIDS! YOU FINDS THEM... ON THA INTRAWEBZ!!!!! No, that's not an album title. This is - Soulwax's remix collection, titled - 'Most of the remixes we've made for other people over the years except for the one for Einstürzende Neubauten because we lost it and a few we didn't think sounded good enough or just didn't fit in length-wise, but including some that are hard to find because either people forgot about them or simply because they haven't been released yet, a few we really love, one we think is just ok, some we did for free, some we did for money, some for ourselves without permission and some for friends as swaps but never on time and always at our studio in Ghent.' But it probably doesn't count cos it's a remix album. OR DOES IT???? Apparently beaten by Chumbawumba's - 'The Boy Bands Have Won, and All The Copyists and The Tribute Bands and The TV Talent Show Producers Have Won, If We Allow Our Culture To Be Shaped By Mimicry, Whether From Lack Of Ideas Or From Exaggerated Respect. You Should Never Try To Freeze Culture. What You Can Do Is Recycle That Culture. Take Your Older Brother's Hand-Me-Down Jacket and Re-Style It, Re-Fashion It to the Point Where It Becomes Your Own. But Don't Just Regurgitate Creative History, Or Hold Art And Music And Literature As Fixed, Untouchable And Kept Under Glass. The People Who Try To `Guard' Any Particular Form Of Music Are, Like The Copyists And Manufactured Bands, Doing It The Worst Disservice, Because The Only Thing That You Can Do To Music That Will Damage It Is Not Change It, Not Make It Your Own. Because Then It Dies, Then It's Over, Then It's Done, and The Boy Bands Have Won.' Which as of August 2009 is officially the longest album title ever. AARGH!!! WHY DO YOU MAKE ME PLAY THESE GAMES???? THESE CRUEL, CRUEL GAMES!!! Another one I could think of would be Damien Rice's OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO if I held one key down for too long. Does that count?

Only an album track but Fairport Convention's "Sir B. McKenzie's Daughter's Lament For The 77th Mounted Lancer's Retreat From The Straits Of Loch Knombe, In The Year Of Our Lord 1727, On The Occasion Of The Announcement Of Her Marriage To The Laird Of Kinleakie " is a contender. Luckily it's an instrumental......

Status Quo's newie - Again and Again and Again and Again and Again and Again... (Don't shoot me - I like the Quo!).
AC/DC - Let's Make the Same Album as Every Album We've Made Since Beano Joined, with Slightly Different Lyrics About Getting It Up and Balling All Night Long... But really, a veteran Bluesman once made an album called, I think - This Is X's New Album. He Doesn't Like It. But Then Again, He Didn't Like Distorted Guitars When They First Appeared. Anyone who can name X is clever, and possibly even older than I am..... Recent discussions in the "music" forum (
