OK, those of you who love Jack Reacher (Auth: Lee Child) will already be playing this game. For me, it would have to be a younger Clint Eastwood. Who do you think?

Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson (The Rock).

Dominic Purcell from Prison Break fame would be my choice

 Mark Hayhurst says:
Knowing Hollywood's reputation of ruining books - probably Danny DeVito.

Purcell would be my choice too.

 LEP says:
What about Harrison Ford? Or, what about the English actor Clive Owen?

Are they going to make films out of the books then?

The thing that has always got me about the Jack Reacher books is the fact that he never carries any luggage and buys clean clothes when he can. Got to be expensive that! And eew, not changing his underpants everyday! LOL

What about Gordon Brown, I hear he is looking for a job.

I think Jack Reacher should play Jack Reacher. No-one else would be good enough!!!

I think Vin Diesel is too stupid to play Jack.............Brad Pitt too pretty...........maybe Hugh Jackman (minus the odd facial hair). Ross Kemp would be perfect......would need to learn a good American accent though!!

You are right! Jack Reacher is Jack Reacher and no one could play him and do the character justice. He is one complex man! Great Read - all his books.

What about Jean-Claude Vandame? Or Kurt Russell? I think they have the style to play Jack Reacher.

Bruce Willis has only one facial expression - that odd lopsided grimace!

Kurt Russell is too pretty and not heavyweight, in terms of acting, enough. Jean-Claude Vandame can't act his way out of a paper bag (just my opinion of course!)

Who's that actor who played Dr Who for one season before David Tennant - he'd be okay. Or the reddish haired Scottish actor (think he's Scottish) who played the lead in Band of Heroes and is now playing an American cop in a series on TV about to start Series 2 this or next week? Or, Liam Neeson.

 BookRaider says:
I like Liam Neeson, yes; I second you for this one.
Don't like JC Vandame neither, but thought he had the "style" of the charactere.

Hugh Jackman would be a great choice!

Many years ago there was an American actor called Joe Don Baker. I always picture him when I read the books.

What about Matt Dillon (Daemon?) out of the Bourne Identity or Keither Sutherland from 24?

What age do we reckon Jack Reacher to be? Thirties/forties? If so both the above would be good. We tend to forget, or at least I do, the age of some actors who would have been ideal e.g. Harrison Ford is now in his sixties and some of the other suggestions made in this discussion are now too old.

 Mrs. J. Smith says:
Tom Hanks!!! Only joking, Hugh Jackman would be good, but I worry that it would be another Da Vinci Code where nothing quite matches expectations! Jack Reacher is one of those characters best left to our imagination.

 Peter Dobin says:
Having read all the Reacher novels, i have long thought that the only actor who could play Reacher satisfactorily due to his sheer size and physical resemblance (height, build, even hair colour) is Ron Perlman, (Hellboy, without horns, red skin, tail etc!)plus he is a good actor.
