Hmmm Twilight... personally I hated it but loved The Host by the same author. Other writers you coud try are:
Maria V Snyder - Poison Study (1st of 3) Anne Bishop - Pillars of the World (1st in Tir Alainn trilogy) Michelle Sagara - Cast in Silence (1st in Chronicles of Elantra series) Anne Rice - Interview with a Vampire (much better than Twilight if you like vampires!) Marian Zimmer Bradley - The Mists of Avalon (Camelot with magic) Kelley Armstrong - Bitten (werewolves and romance), Dimestore Magic (witches) Faith Hunter - Bloodring (1st of rogue mage trilogy - excellent, with angels) Check out the Listmania section at the end of a book page to get similar authors. I find many great books this way, including some good romantic fantasy by witers like Christine Feehan, S L Farrell, Rachel Caine, Kate Forsythe and Elizabeth Vaughn. Happy hunting :)

Kelley Armstrong, Michelle Sagara, Elizabeth Vaughan and Rachel Caine are all favourite reads of mine, so yes, I'd recommend these as well.
Elizabeth Haydon's 'Rhapsody' trilogy is worth checking out. The way romance develops in those books is very unusual, embedded in a very original story. And maybe an odd recommendation, but try David Eddings 'Belgariad' which is classed as young adult and an easy read. There is romance but in a very innocent way. I passed the 32 mark some time ago and have read hundreds and hundreds of fantasy books, some of which I think of as absolute outstanding and yet, the 'Belgariad' which is simple and humble in comparison is a more regular re-read than a lot of those 'clever' books. The reading equivalent of comfort food. For more ideas check out my Listmania: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/richpub/listma And if you were about to be marooned on a desert island and it was my job to give you your last ever books, you would have Stephen Erikson's 'Malazan series' and Diana Gabaldon's 'Outlander (UK edition = Cross Stitch)' series.

Mirror Bound by nissa gordon
it's fantasy with magic and aliens, and has the promise of romance if the main character could just get over all the hurdles that the galaxy keeps throwing at them.

You sound just like me!! Try Charlaine Harris, her books all different titles but still a 'A Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mystery' have been made into 'True Blood' for TV, which I really enjoyed watching but not as much as reading the books. She has lots of different 'main' characters and they all keep poping up throughout the 9 books she's written ; so far she writes a new one each year.. all conecting one big story line. They are easy to read, I can't put them down and can read them in a few nights...they give you that stirred up romantic wishful feeling of wanting to be bitten that you get with the 'Twilight' books.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on 'Host', I enjoyed it but it was completely different to 'Twilight'. I have read all ' Belgariad' series and enjoyed those...they are not vampire. I'm a big fan of Robin Hobb, all her books have a main character who changes who he/she is throughout the story...they are a lovley series too with added romance and all in trilogies - read them in order....again not vampire. I also love Juliette Marillier....druid/pagan fairy tale books for adults very good 'Seven Waters' trilogy set in Ireland full of romance and good/bad magic.....not vampire. Happy Reading!

Hey, I'm in my thirties and going through a teen book kick at the moment too, so if you're enjoying teen fantasy and therefore can cope with the occasional teen angst - L J Smith has some good stuff (nightworld series not so great though and getting worse, dark visions probably my fav) and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare was fun. Kelley Armstrongs young adult series started by the summoning is also very good.
For urban fantasy with romantic thread - I second Rosie Budd with the Charlene Harris Sookie series and can add Patricia Briggs with Moon Called, Illona Andrews with Magic Bites, Kim Harrison with Dead Witch Walking (though less hot/romantic) and I'd second AnetteF with Bitten by Kelley Armstrong

I'm not sure that anyone quite matches the teen angst of twilight but some recentish heart breakingly good teen/adult cross over series that I don't think feel too young are:
Garth Nix - Sabriel, Lisrael,Abhorsen series: magic, death, and a central romance. Really strong lead girl characters. Phillip Reeves - Mortal Engines series: high adventure set in future dystopia, with very unusual love story between main girl/boy characters Lian Hearn - Tales of the Otori: Strange historic fantasy set in Japan, brilliant love story, family feuds, special powers, destiny etc. Trudi Canavan - Black Magician Trilogy -love hate thing going on in these books that makes end particularly bittersweet. If you want more grown up I would agree about Sookie series. For grown up and romance have a look at Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books - this is heady stuff and not for faint hearted (or under 18s) but very very romantic too.
