Laurence the Parrot says:
The 1928 film "The Passion of Joan of Arc" by Carl Dreyer has never been relesed on DVD or video in the UK (though has elsewhere). For anybody who has a serious interest in films, this must be regarded as the most important film ever made which is not available. Falconetti as Joan of Arc gives what some regard as the greatest acting performance ever.

Murder by Contract (1958), starring Vince Edwards - excellent, tight noir about a contract killer, made in seven days, way better than its budget would lead you to imagine.

I'd add Jacques Tati's 'Traffic'. I think that all of his other movies are currently available, but for some reason 'Traffic' isn't. Unless someone knows differently.
